Just saw a clip of the syndicated opening to "The Ropers". Didn't know it used an instrumental version of the "Three's Company" theme song.

Also, the title card read "Three's Company's Friends, The Ropers".

Tried to post a link to it, but had some problems.

Hey there, JackTripperFan, here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFV2TshMN8M

That is really cool! I never knew this version of the Three's Company theme song/Ropers intro existed. Thanks for sharing!

I like it better than the permanent Roper theme used.

Me, too! That Roper theme is just ridiculous. It sounds like it belongs to a circus elephant act.

I think that version was only for Ropers episodes that were aired as part of the Three's Company syndication package, ie, ones where a cast member or members of TC guest starred on the show.

On Antenna TV, all the episodes of The Ropers had the original Ropers opening theme but they were the shortened versions for syndication. 3 episodes had the Three's Company season 6-8 closing theme, but the rest all have the Ropers theme.

On the Antenna TV prints, each episode of The Ropers has a "film look", instead of being smooth and fluid, like videotape is. I noticed that this was the only videotaped show on Antenna TV to have this problem.

I wonder if, for some reason, those episodes were transferred from videotape to film for some reason.

I prefer the Ropers theme since it is not Three's Company
