Does anyone own the new "Cannon" complete series set? I'm thinking about buying it but I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up about what to expect with the quality, packaging, etc. Pictures are also welcomed!

I can't provide any pictures, but I can tell you what I think about it.
The packaging is your standard slipcases, 5 total, 1 for each season, that fit inside a cardboard box. The cardboard box isn't very thick, but is adequate.
As far as video quality for the episodes, they aren't remastered so the images tend to be on the soft side. The episodes have a "70's" look to them, which is a cool thing. Colors seem to look fine. Episodes were probably transferred to DVD using old videotape masters. I noticed the 4th season episode "Coffin Corner" has some minor video imperfections at around the 40 minute mark. I think the episodes are uncut, but I'm not positively sure about that. Run times of the episodes are not consistent, ranging from about 49 minutes on the short side to as long as about 53 minutes on the long side.
As far as audio quality goes, for whatever reason the audio levels are all over the place with this set. The audio level on episodes from seasons 2, 3, and 4 is noticeably louder than the audio levels on seasons 1 and 5. I have no idea why that is.
I don't like the episode menu screens, these are some of the worst menu screens I've seen. But that's just my opinion.
The 5th season episode "Deadly Conspiracy" is really a two parter, the second part is a Barnaby Jones episode. But VEI didn't include the second part on their Cannon set. I'm pissed off about that.
There are a few other minor issues too, careless errors that probably could have been prevented if quality control had inspected the DVD's prior to release. But I don't want to get too picky.
So I guess the question is, is the set worth buying? I would say yea it is, but shop around and buy it only at a discounted price. VEI could have done a better job with this and it's not worth buying at full price.

Awesome! Thanks for the details! :)
That's horrible about the "Barnaby Jones" episode. That should've been included.

Quite so! Even the second-season Simon & Simon release had the two parts of the Magnum, P.I./Simon & Simon crossover ("Ki'is Don't Lie" on Magnum, P.I., and "Emeralds Are Not A Girl's Best Friend" on Simon & Simon).

For some strange reason, I find many DVD standard definition 480i video are not as sharp as the shows being broadcast now on the sub channels! I cannot explan this difference! Does anyone know the reason between why broadcast is better?
I did some research and the only reason answer to having resolution in broadcast shows is that they took out the interlace out when broadcasting it on digital 480p!
