Whatever abbreviations are used, it's always good practice, in any field, to write out a title completely the first time it's mentioned, before switching over to acronyms.

Yes, absolutely, although sometimes I'm guilty of forgetting. Like when I kept discussing how much I enjoy watching LHOP, without first mentioning that LHOP is my pet abbreviation for Little House On The Prairie.
