Been a big fan since the NBC days, especially "NBC News Overnight", with Lloyd Dobyns, and then on ABC, "Our World", with Ray Gandolph. Really gonna miss her, but even now can hear her say
I don't think that this news is that surprising if you look at this Buzzfeed article from about two years ago:
"Nick News" Is Still On The Air. Can It Survive? (http://www.buzzfeed.com/hunterschwarz/nick-news-is-still-on-the-air-can-it-survive)
The ratings never did well on Nick News after 2011 drop fared 0.6 or 0.7 total viewers, but did OK with 1 mil viewers in 2013 or 2014, but then again after fall 2014 drop, ratings fared horrible to 0.5ish total viewers.

I remember her,but not from Nick News. I had to look her up to figure out it must have been from Our World [TV series ]. It was a news series that had 26 shows,
from September 25, 1986 to May 28, 1987. Each show was about a short period in America. It was well received and profitable for the network, but had bad ratings because it was programmed against the
extremely popular The Cosby Show. ABC canceled the show after one
season.Ellerbee tried to move the show to PBS, but was not successful.
Ellerbee said ''If they would have left it there for three to four years,it
could have done what 60 minutes did.It could have developed slowly
as an alternative program without being in the ratings race.''
Did this show go into reruns ? It was a great show.
