I finally have some spare time to work on DVD sets of my favorite classics and I noticed that most of the channels I have recorded from do credit crunches which prevent the opening and closing credits from being seen.

How do you guys who make sets work around that? Do you include or exclude those crunches?

I have done both in the past. I originally tried keeping the crunches, because I liked being able to reference the credits sometimes to see names of guest stars and others. A couple years back I recorded a bunch of shows from GSN and couldnt stand the promos for some of the reality show crap they were advertising during the crunch and had no need for the credits so I cut them.

I hate credit crunches, but I've kept them in for completeness, even though they're practically useless. Usually the credits are so small or squashed, you can't read them anyway and the theme music is turned off so they can promote something else.

If I were making my own sets, I would just stop the recording after the final shot/freeze frame, and begin the next episode's recording after the intro. I just wouldn't bother with any of the credit sequences.

When I watch the Facts of Life box set dvd's, I always skip the credit sequence anyway. I guess I'm just use to jumping right into the the actual episode.
