I chose Petticoat Junction, but it's really tough because I love Green Acres too! But to choose one I'm picking PJ!!! :)

I added other because besides Petticoat Junction, Green Acres and Beverly Hillbillies maybe there are other Paul Henning shows that I don't know about ? :)

It's hard to choose since I like all three! But I eventually voted for Green Acres!

I absolutely adore all 3 of these shows. All 3 are national treasures!

My favorite is "Green Acres" followed by "Petticoat Junction" then "The Beverly Hillbillies".

Come on guys.....we need more of ALL 3 of these shows on DVD! Studios need to either piss or get off the pot and start putting these shows out on DVD for the fans!

Green Acres would be my favorite. Beverly Hillbillies is alright but not one of my favorites shows. I really haven't seen much Petticoat Junction so I really don't know that much about it. But I love Green Acres. I wish they would release the rest of it on DVD.

I have never seen, Green Acres. I saw an episode or two of petticoat junction and liked it. But I'll have to go with The Beverly Hillbillies because I saw more episodes of it.

Oh wow! You've never seen Green Acres? You would love it! ;) It's really hilarious, very funny & unique characters! And if you've seen Petticoat Junction ,it's really cool. Some of the Petticoat Junction characters are also on Green Acres! Both PJ & GA take place in the same town of Hooterville! ;)

It's been a long time since I saw Green Acres, but if I'm not mistaken, didn't the format change slightly? In the early episodes, I think Lisa was the "voice of reason" and Oliver was the more eccentric one. Then the roles were reversed. Or am I wrong in my memory?

Also, how did the 3 shows rank in popularity?

There's also The Bob Cummings Show of the late 50s, on which Henning was creator, producer, and head writer.
That's a good show too.

Petticoat Junction

YES!!!!!! Another Petticoat Junction vote!!!! :) ;)

Such a sweet whole some wonderful show!!!!;) Even if I am very sad if I watch Petticoat Junction it will make my mood so much better!;) Like I said I LOVE Green Acres too, it's so fun and silly!:D But Petticoat Junction IDK, it's like Kate and the girls are my family, like long lost cousins or something!! When I was a little girl I wanted to live at the Shady Rest and be the fourth Bradley sister! :) ;)

I don't think I ever saw the Bob Cummings show! That wasn't a "rural" show was it?

Green Acres. I've never seen the other 2, but GA gets so cleverly surreal it probably doesn't matter. And on a personal note, I've shopped at a place called Green Acres mall.

Petticoat Junction: I like the down-home tone of the series.

You should check out PJ! The Bradley sisters are pretty! :) I'm thinking you might like Bobbie Jo the middle sister! Two actresses played her. The first was Pat Woodell and the second was Lori Saunders! Not that they look like Valerie, but they have dark hair and brown eyes! They seem like they might be your type! ;)

Green Acres gets the nod over the Hilllbillies due to its crazier, near avant-garde sense of humor. The Hillbillies got a lot of mileage out of its premise, but sometimes the "wow the Clampetts are dumb" did get old sometimes. PJ is the least of the shows; as good looking as the girls or Steve were, they just weren't in the same comedic level as Bea Bernadaret or Edgar Buchanan. Compare that to GA or BH, where every major actor (and a lot of minor ones) was a master of comic timing.

Before that, he was also one of the writers on "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show". So he was part of 2 good shows during the 50s before he created the 3 great ones in the 60s.

About those three, which I love a lot:

"The Beverly Hillbillies" was the most popular and the most timeless, one of those shows that will live on forever...except in Canada! :(

"Green Acres" was the funniest and the strangest and the one that I voted for. It's a fast-paced laugh-a-minute romp where the bad jokes are often funnier than the good ones and the visual gags are also hilarious!

"Petticoat Junction" was the most charming and heart-warming of the three, which played out more like a rural version of "My Three Sons". Best of all, it had Lori Saunders inside the water tower!

Wow!!! From the Burns & Allen show is probably how Paul got to know Bea!:) And she became such a good casting choice as Kate and also cousin Pearl! ;)
