WOW!!! Cherry is winning!!!! That is actually one of my least favorite pies! IDK why? I LOVE Bing cherries. But to me a cherry pie wasn't that appealing! It's been a long time since I've had any, maybe I would like it now? And of course it makes a difference who makes the pie too!

Same here!! I always found the cherries in cherry pie to be too sweet!:p And I don't like pie ala mode either!:p


To Foggy: :wave: I know!!! ;) Cheesecake should be cheese pie!!!! It is more like a pie than cake if it's round!!! I used to ponder this as a child and even asked my Mom why it was called cheese cake and not cheese pie? :crazy:

BUT...... my families favorite pie is MY version of the italian ricotta pie (an Evil Zebra speciality)
I make mine without CRUST..... and everyone loves it!!

HELL..... it's really "EZ" to make here is my recipe..... TRY IT!!

Evil Zebra's Italian Rice Pie

 6 eggs
 1 Cup milk
 1 Cup sugar
 1 tsp vanilla
 1 cup rice
 1lb ricotta cheese
 1 tsp ground cinnamon

1. Pre-Heat oven to 350 degrees, spray 9"x13" glass baking dish with non stick spray (set aside).

2. Boil one cup of water in a small pan add 1 Cup of Instant White Rice remove from stove, cover and set aside.

3. In a large bowl beat the eggs, add milk and blend. Slowly blend in the cup of sugar and vanilla.
Add cooked rice, ricotta cheese and cinnamon. Beat mixture on slow just to blend.

4. Pour mixture into prepared 9"x13" dish and bake at 350 for 55 minutes.

I agree with you Bonnie! Pecan Pie doesn't qualify as a pie. It's more like a large candy bar. I don't like it but it is my husband's favorite. I prefer fruit pies. Other kinds like peanut butter pie are too sickening sweet for my taste. I do like cream pies though especially banana cream and chocolate pie!

Yeah I empathize, I'm mildly diabetic, so pie's a very very rare treat for me, and them, only a few tastes.

But I do make a halfway decent pumpkin pie with unsweetened pumpkin purée, Splenda, a splash of egg whites and seasoning.

Apple Pie is definitely my favorite. Thanksgiving and Christmas wouldn't be complete without it! :D
