BensonFan 11-30-2015, 07:58 PM And by the way, a very happy 88th birthday today to Benson himself, Robert Guillaume! :birthday:  lj01 01-19-2016, 02:43 PM Just curious, as I don't have Familynet, has anyone been viewing/recording? Please PM me if recording. I see that currently FN is up to mid-season 5. Thanks! BensonFan 01-20-2016, 06:57 PM Just curious, as I don't have Familynet, has anyone been viewing/recording? Please PM me if recording. I see that currently FN is up to mid-season 5. Thanks! I have been recording them to my DVR BUT I have no clue how to convert them from there to DVD. tvfan25 01-20-2016, 09:28 PM I record on my DVR with Dish Network and then transfer it to a DVD all the time. When I first asked a Dish guy about it, he said you couldn't do it. But you can. On Dish, when you want to watch TV, I set my TV to HDMI 2. When I turn on my DVD player/recorder, I set my TV to Video 2. Then I'm able to record my shows from the DVR to a DVD. Hope this helps! :) kramerpod 01-21-2016, 09:17 PM I have been recording them as well since they started airing them. They are midway into season 5 now but there guide on there website shows them starting over next Tuesday with the pilot episode then showing the first season again. So for some reason they are not finishing season 5 and showing any of season 6 or 7.Just like when they aired the final episode of Barney Miller about two weeks ago the next day they started over showing season 4 from the beginning. So its great they are airing Benson its just odd that they would not finish all the seasons before starting over.If they do start over next week it would be nice to what it would take to get them to air all of the episodes this time. Let's hope so. They have played the first three seasons of Barney Miller before, so I don't know why they skipped them this time. lj01 01-25-2016, 01:02 PM are the episodes cut or time-sped (or both)? I assume they are still missing the tag scenes? mets82 01-25-2016, 04:07 PM I dont get FamilyNet but didnt Antenna TV have the same problem?? They got about to season 5 or 6 and then they took it off? joeacademy 01-26-2016, 10:28 AM It's interesting, the first three seasons were uncut and had the tag scenes. Each episode ran for 25 minutes. But once they started showing season 4, only the first few episodes were uncut and then everything since then was the 22 minute syndicated version without the tags. mets82 01-26-2016, 02:51 PM Welcome to the board!! TAGS? What are those again? AngieTribeca 02-11-2016, 04:44 PM I am so happy that the later episodes are edited. Not because I like edited episodes of course. I don't get FamilyNet in my area and it upset me because the only episodes I had of the series came from TV Land which edited them so I wanted to change providers to make a better set. I am so glad I didn't because I would have paid a fortune for 3 and a half seasons (2 of them already released on DVD) of unedited episodes. No thanks! If FamilyNet ever gets the entire series unedited then I may consider changing providers but it is not worth it if I am going to get mostly edited episodes. Season 1 and 2 are completely unedited on DVD and season 3 has a few unedited episodes mixed in with season 2 on the DVD sets released before Mill Creek. Looks like my complete series set does not look that bad anymore. It would have been great if FamilyNet could get these all unedited like they did with Archie Bunker's Place. I hear only a few episodes were edited in that syndication package they had. BensonFan 03-27-2016, 11:13 PM It's getting a little annoying that we get a couple of episodes into Season 6 and it's back to the beginning again. Come on, guys. Svenfan1234 04-27-2016, 10:54 AM So, FamilyNet does not air these uncut? Too bad, because I would love a "homemade set" of the remaining seasons uncut. AngieTribeca 04-27-2016, 07:09 PM So, FamilyNet does not air these uncut? Too bad, because I would love a "homemade set" of the remaining seasons uncut. FamilyNet airs season 1-3 fully uncut. Season 4 is aired with 4 or 5 uncut episodes then the rest of the season is the edited 22 minute episodes with the short 30 second opening and no tag scene. FamilyNet also does not have the rights to the entire series because they are a few episodes from season 6 then goes right back to season 1. They do not have season 7 at all. Thank goodness TV Land aired season 7 because that was the last time episodes from this season were aired. I got my hands on a set that was missing 2 episodes so I have season 7 in my collection of Benson episodes. |
