Has anyone ever watched this show about where Fred, Wilma, Barney, and Betty are kids? It airs on CN and I think it came out long after The Flinstones like in the 80's. What does everyone think of this show? Its pretty cute showing the gang as kids, but I still like The Flinstones better the original show. :) Also there was a chracter in The Flintstones Kids called Captain Caveman. Does anyone know if there was an actual cartoon called Captain Caveman, or was this just something in The Flintstones Kids? I think it was just something added into TFK. The CC character never was in the original show was he? He was a furry little caveman superhero that TFK Fred/Wilma/Barney/Betty loved to watch on tv.

I think the only characters from the orginal series that are in TFK are Fred/Wilma/Barney/Betty/Dino. Guess they just wanted to make it a little different from the original show. Also I wonder if in TFK if that is how the characters F/W/B/B really were as kids, and if the knew each other and all? Tough but good question. :)

I've seen the Flinstones Kids a couple of times and I really didn't like it.

The stupid thing is I remeber that there was an episode of the Flintstones that showed Fred and Barney meeting Betty and Wilma when they were working as waiters- so this show was also inacurate.
Wasn't Dino a puppy dog in it to?

Hanna Barbera did "A Pup Called Scooby Doo" too which was the Scoby Doo gang as kids.

And Captain Cavemean was a reguler Hanna Barbera cartoon in I think 1969.

"The Flintstone Kids", like the "Multiple Dinos" thread a few months back, is set in an entirely different universe from the original "Flintstones", as there are many elements that just don't add up:

1. Why is Freddy Flintstone wearing a tie? How many little boys, stone-age or not, wear ties on a daily basis, anyway?

2. Even as a child, Barney Rubble was a dimwit. This isn't funny, it's depressing.

3. And don't get me started on Dino again...

4. And Nate Slate...you mean to tell me that Fred Flintstone's future boss is the same age he is? I DON'T THINK SO!!

As for Captain Caveman, he made his first appearance in the late 1970's on ABC in a show called "Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels", where he teamed up with a semi-ethnic teenage version of "Charlie's Angels", which was extremley popular at the time (and by "semi-ethnic" , it was one Black girl and two White chicks *sigh*)

A couple of years later, Captain Caveman became part of the "Flintstones" mythos by working as a meek reporter for "The Bedrock Gazette"(?), where Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble worked as reporters(???). (This was at the same time that Fred and Barney were working as cops alongside Al Capp's Shmoo(???!?!!?)

Oy, my head hurts...

It sure is. It's availible on digital cable and sattelite. It's owned by Time Warner, which owns CN and shows/has shown Flintstones, Flintstone Kids, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, etc.

Nate Slate? Was that his name on The Flintstone Kids? On the original 1960-1966 show it was George Slate. Well, names do change. LoL.

Hey! I don't know if you know this or not, but ThunderCats was shown on CN a few years back. They stopped showing it many times. Currently it's on hiatus.

As for Care Bears, TD stopped showing it and other old DiC shows in August due to the contract expiring. I think The Littles (one of them) could be on Nick soon in case they own it. I had wrote to them about it and they could own it now.

As for Fat Albert, it hasn't been shown since USA Network stopped showing it in the early 1990s. Videos are made and the xmas special has aired since 2001 on NBC and UPN.

Hope this helps!

I hated it.Prechy, boring, and out of contect (as others have mentioned) with the show--the much discussed variously stated "meetings" of Fred and Barney the due and Betty and Wilma the duo (before marriage) being an example the Baby Looney Tunes cuteness another,.

First comment exactly one of the bad things about the show-they didn't know each other as little children! and yes,Dino was a puppy and one won a Humanitasprize-a sure sign that a show's bad (read unfunny):D

Hanna Barbera did "A Pup Called Scooby Doo" too which was the Scoby Doo gang as kids.
Yes,they did, a few years later in 1988.

8 years off here-1977. Also concurrently appeared in SCOOBY'S AL:LSTAR LAUGH-A-LYMPICS (well, the title does justify it I guess but he was a then-new character!):)
