I was thinking about asking this for awhile: How come they couldn't have Cindy Snow be the sister of Chrissy Snow rather than the cousin of Chrissy Snow?
Because I think we were all under the impression Chrissy was supposed to be an only child, unless someone can bring up a time where Chrissy's siblings were referred to.

i think they wanted to keep some distance in there - who knows what they threatened to do - like just completely erase her from all existence if they couldn't come to terms with her for a new contract.

I think Robyrob nailed it. It also made it easier to erase Chrissy from existence.
