View Full Version : New Show sorta like FOL!!!!!!!
Blair-Lisa#1Fan 04-05-2002, 01:20 PM BOARDING SCHOOL
The "BS" in question is the Fisk Academy, a small girl’s boarding school in the woods of Vermont. It’s a place where most of the learning doesn’t take place in the classroom. The action centers on the four residents of Maple House. Away from parents and watched over only by their housemother Hope, who is perpetually on the verge of an emotional collapse, these fifteen year-old girls are forced to make their own rules and grow themselves up.
There's Pepper, the former Olympic gymnast who after years of Olympic training is determined to taste life (which is why she’s packed on forty pounds since the games in Sydney), Shannon (Megalyn Echikunwoke), the cynical, authority resisting wild girl who’s already been kicked out of eight boarding schools. Dana, who is searching to find her true self - a lapsed vegetarian, now and aspiring lesbian, next year who knows? And Andy (Christy Carlson Romano), the most centered and mature of the girls, who on her first day at school ends up accidentally making out with her history teacher. This ain't no "Facts Of Life", kids.
Rounding out this twisted world is Steven (Eddie McClintock), the aforementioned twenty-four year-old history teacher who finds himself falling for one of his students. Then there's the school’s seventeen year-old groundskeeper, known only as “The Shovel and Rake Guy” (Sam Horrigan). How would you like to be the only available guy within miles? It’s nice to be him. And finally, Dr. Fisk, the headmaster of the school, whose only goal in life is to play golf and keep his girls out of jail.
Fisk Academy is a wild, raucous world where anything can happen. And that’s no B.S......

They think that they can get our minds off of FOL by putting on a show LIKE FOL. But they are SOOOOO wrong.
And Christy, I know her from ES and Cadet Kelly!!!!

Taylor22 04-06-2002, 02:09 AM What?!? I'm confused.... :confused: This is so random! How did anyone find out about this alleged "Boarding School" show? Is this even a real show?

It cant be a spin off.... to be a spin off it would have like had to of started in the 80s and probably involved one of the FOL characters or a character who was once on the show. It sounds like FOL having four girls, a housemother, and a boarding school but its obviously a lot different if students are making out w/ teachers and one of the students is a lesbian. I dont think they're trying to make some carbon copy of FOL people... nor are they trying to compete with the show. I think its just some wierd show idea FOX had.. makes since its a wierd show though since FOX is supposed to be making it.

well, I don't want to break any hearts or scare anyone, but many people felt that Jo had some lesbian tendancies, especially for the time. She dated boys -- agreed. However, she was rough, rode a bike, got in fights, and just generally could be a b*tch.
(don't send me any threatening notes on this, I can get you info if you want)
The 4-girl format is quite common. For example...
TFOL
Silly = Natalie
Rough = Jo
Pretty = Blair
Everyone's Friend = Tootie
The Golden Girls
Silly = Rose
Rough = Dorothy
Pretty = Blanche
Everyone's Friend = Sophia
Designing Women
Silly = Charlene, Carlene
Rough = Julia
Pretty = Suzanne, BJ
Everyone's Friend = Mary Jo
So, it doesn't surprise me that this new show could be compared to ANY of these....

You arent scaring me. I'm not an idiot. I know that a lot of people refer to Jo as a lesbian but it was never directly said that during the series. She wasnt an open lesbian if she was and apparently the girl on this new show is an open lesbian which does make it different from FOL.

julian bozo 04-08-2002, 02:50 AM :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Hey Guys,
This could be the big break we have been looking for.
Everyone watch this new show, even if you absolutely hate it.
Then alot of networks will pick up that a show with the plot
being girls at private school is really popular. Then maybe the stations will be fighting to see who gets to pick up the Facts of Life. Wouldn't that be great. It's worth a try. So watch it . If you hate it turn it on & leave the room.
