If Stoop Kid’s looking for another reason to leave his stoop, I think I’ve finally found one.
Nickelodeon is currently developing a made-for-TV "Hey Arnold!" movie, set shortly after the events of the June 2004 series finale, our sister publication Variety reports.
Though Nickelodeon couldn’t confirm when the movie might air, we do know it will tie up several loose ends, including answering the big mystery surrounding Arnold’s M.I.A. parents. They were shown once in the “Parents Day” special in 2000.
The titular character, he with a head shaped like a football, previously starred in his own big-screen movie in 2002.
Variety‘s report adds that — following the success of the network’s Splat block of programming — "Hey Arnold!" could be the first of several Nickelodeon classics poised to get the TV movie treatment.

The Nickelodeon film could make a lot of use of the social media phenomenon that’s taken place since the show left the air.

Nickelodeon has officially given the greenlight to a two-part animated "Hey Arnold!" TV movie, written and executive produced by the series' original creator Craig Bartlett.
First announced in development late last year, the now-greenlit TV movie will pick up where the original series ended, resolving unanswered questions and plotlines, including Arnold finally getting answers about the whereabouts of his missing parents.
Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, the two hour-long TV movies will debut in 2017.

Svenfan1234 04-04-2016, 06:47 PM I kinda wish that the two movies were one big movie. I also really want an "Invader Zim" finale movie. I love that show, and I'd love a proper ending for it.
JamesG 06-13-2016, 08:12 PM The Original Voice Cast is Returning for the Hey Arnold! TV Movie
by Kaitlin Thomas

Everything old is new again, and that includes the '90s cartoon Hey Arnold!
Nickelodeon announced Monday that the upcoming TV movie based on the series -- which coincides with the network's 25th anniversary celebration of original creator-driven animation and will pick up where the show's swan song left off in 2004 -- will be titled Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie and also feature the show's original voice cast.
Most of the actors will be reprising their roles, including Dan Castellaneta as Grandpa, Francesca Marie Smith as Helga G. Pataki, and Tress MacNeille as Grandma. However, fans will notice that both Arnold and Gerald will sound different, probably because original voice actors Lane Toran (one of a few of actors who voiced Arnold over the show's run) and Jamil Smith (Gerald) continued to age. Just a guess!
Both men will lend their voices to other roles in the film instead.
In their place, Mason Vale Cotton (Mad Men) will take over as the titular boy with a football-shaped head, while Benjamin "L'il P-Nut" Flores, Jr. (Game Shakers) will voice Arnold's best friend.
They'll be joined by fellow newcomer Alfred Molina who will lend his voice to the film's villain, a notorious river pirate named Lasombra.
The long list of voice actors reprising their original roles include: Anndi McAfee as Phoebe; Justin Shenkarow as Harold; Olivia Hack as Rhonda; Nika Futterman as Olga; Dan Butler as Mr. Simmons; Antoinette Stella as Stella; Carlos Alazraqui as Eduardo; Dom Irrera as Ernie; Maurice LaMarche as Bob Pataki; Kath Soucie as Miriam; Danielle Judovits as Big Patty; Danny Cooksey as Stoop Kid; Jim Belushi as Coach Wittenberg; and Craig Bartlett as Miles.
Joining Cotton, Flores Jr. and Molina as newcomers to the universe will be Gavin Lewis as Eugene, Jet Jurgensmeyer as Stinky, Aiden Lewandowski as Sid, Laya Hayes as Nadine, Nicolas Cantu as Curly, Wally Wingert as Oskar and Stephen Stanton as Pigeon Man.
There is no premiere date yet for Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie.
