Caroline13 02-11-2024, 04:17 PM They talked about taking medicine back in 2015 and how about today? I take a few minor pharma drugs to keep me moving and many supplements to keep the moving movin on....I've gotten to 85 on very few major drugs...and mostly on and off due to side effects...
Dude111 02-11-2024, 10:06 PM Alot of medicine now has bad side effects!! (Especially plant based crap)
Caroline13 02-12-2024, 03:54 PM Dude, not NOW side effects, MORE side effects, wouldn't it be nice if they produced a "getting rid of stupid pill that gives no side effects""""?????
stevea 02-12-2024, 06:57 PM Nexium and a few vitamins.
Caroline13 02-12-2024, 10:39 PM Nexium and a few vitamins.
I temporarily forget what Nexium is taken for and had to look it up...and I see mostly for heartburn, and I can remember over 60 yrs ago I had a mild encounter with H.B. when I was pregnant with my girl. Never since.
Nexium is available as a prescription and over the counter (OTC).

Those people that make it to their 80s and beyond with no major health problem usually have very good gene. And that come from living a simple and active life-active being the most important. My aunt lived to be 100 years old and even in that age, she could out walk any member of her family when going sight seeing. She always walked whenever she needed to go somewhere and never owned a car.
Caroline13 02-13-2024, 01:44 PM Yep, my folks lived to early and mid 90's and very little innocent meds in t heir lives, like f or blood pressure. and hard work and walked a lot, mom for sure dad drove more, but he walked a lot too just to get to where they needed to go in their town.....
I'll never live to see how long my tech grandkids live.
Bill Gates is 68 and Jeff Amazon is only 60, let's watch at how long they live...
biffbronson 02-14-2024, 09:44 AM When my uncle died in 2003, his doctors had him on 18 prescriptions. Ridiculous. And that's Rx only, supplements were additional to that number!
Included was Vioxx, which proved to be a deadly med - since discontinued. Quakery was / is alive and well, can't say the same for many patients.
Caroline13 02-14-2024, 02:33 PM Bif: Good grief, your uncle made many docs wealthy, he trusted them, on the Voix I heard about it maybe 20 yrs ago and would not touch it, and the other drug that came out similar to it, Celebrex, is still on the market and I looked at it over the years but could not attempt it....for me, the less drugs, the better.....
MRPITT 02-14-2024, 03:38 PM Unfortunately, I’m on a few different medicines. I have survived 3 heart attacks a quadruple bypass and a couple weeks in a coma. I flatlined for 11 minutes. As a result of that I’m on a few medications for heart related issues including one for heart failure, one for blood clots and one for kidney failure.
Prior to this I was not the type of guy who likes taking medications, but with 2 young children I did what I thought would prolong my life the longest and followed the Docs advice.

If I had your heart history I'd do what docs say to do. Do you have ideas about how you got to where you landed?? My dad one would think would be prime candidate as he did not take care of himself, and lots of booze, but maybe the booze preserved him to his 95 yrs...his heart just kept going and his mind and body were so wanting to go....
MRPITT 02-14-2024, 06:37 PM I don’t drink or smoke and am not overweight which is likely why I survived. I hit the genetic lottery. Some family history.
Dude111 02-14-2024, 09:16 PM Oh my I didnt know you went thru all that,im so sorry..............
