Just thought I would give a heads up that according to their Facebook page the episode of 48 Hours this Saturday (14th) will be about the Savannah Todd case and will feature the first interview with her mother. It airs at 7 pm central time.

Oh, that ought to be a classic. It sounds like the focus of the episode is Dorothy Barnett telling her side of the story. Considering she's a nutcase, I imagine she'll just spew lies for 60 minutes.

Actually 48 Hours aired a special on the Paris terror attacks instead. Hopefully they'll air the Savannah Todd story soon.

That's unfortunate I would much rather have them been able to air that because that would mean there was no attack.

I watched this last night and I really don't know what to think. I find it odd that Harris Todd declined to be interviewed. What's everyone else's take?

Harris Todd recently did a Dateline episode, which I recorded but haven't watched yet. This is pure speculation, but perhaps he was too emotionally drained after that to do another show. I do find it weird that the 48 Hours episode apparently focused on Dorothy's side of the story. Given that she's a criminal, I doubt she had many truthful things to say.
Did the 48 Hours episode sympathize with her?

It sure seemed that way. They kept interviewing her close friends and relatives from Australia and America and they all just kept saying what a wonderful, loving mother she was and how they never suspected anything. All of her friends state that they never saw any signs of mental illness or violent tendencies. They all basically believe that the marriage counselor and even Lee's own mother Dottie were duped by Harris into thinking Lee was severely bipolar. Lee even said that up until her eighth month of pregnancy, Harris repeatedly told her "There is no baby.".
The weirdest part was when Savanna (who grew up believing her name was Samantha and her mother was Alexandria) said she finally met with Harris Todd at his South Carolina home. She said he shook her hand rather than hug her and, instead of actually getting to know her, spent the entire two-hour visit showing her his house and possessions.

I have not seen any of these yet but I did see an interview with the father that he did in Costa Rica and it was odd.
