If I can change the storyline of any episode....I would change the episode "Chucky's Shoes" where Beaver would slap Chucky every time he whines for ice cream or a type of shoes. Recall Chucky would say "if you don't buy me ice cream, I will scream!" Beaver would spank Chucky and Beaver would say "Go ahead...make my day!" Chunky would behave and the rest of the story would focus on Beaver buying Chucky girls shoes to get revenge on Chucky's pushy mom!

I would change "Beaver Finds a Wallet" because I didn't like it when the lady promised a reward and didn't send it. I hate when adults cheat kids. I would have her open up the wallet and give him a few bucks then.

What episode would you change?

I would change the last episode where there family is looking at pictures in a photo album, and the pictures in the album were from scenes of past episodes. When there are pictures in a photo album, one has to assume someone was holding a camera to take the picture. But if you've seen those particular episodes, you know that there was nobody there with a camera. For example, there's the episode where Beaver and Larry are alone in Larry's sister's bedroom. Nobody else was in the room with them to snap a picture. Rather than having the family recall these events by looking at a photo album, they should have simply been sitting together talking and reminiscing about old times. Forget the photo album.

For me, it would have been the one in which Eddie and Lumpy framed Wally so he lost his job at the soda fountain- and Wally FINALLY had enough of them and dumped the melted ice cream he'd gotten stuck with on them to pay them back. What could have been THE most cathartic episode of the whole series got spoiled by Ward being a wet blanket re Wally's retaliating- and I've often thought Ward ruined the ONE chance he and June had of Wally dumping these clods who were constantly trying to drag their son down . Therefore, I would have changed it so Ward congratulating Wally AND have June REALLY tell off Eddie what she thought of him.

In the Silent Treatment - I would have made Ward more aware of how Beaver was treating his mother, first off. The writers did Ward a disservice in this episode for not defending her as he usually does. Ward always talks about how the boys "worried" their mother, etc. So why didn't he pick up on Beaver being a little punk to his mother? Come on - Ward was smarter than that! And when Wally did finally say something to Ward, he should have took the little jerk out to the shed and whoop his A$$!

Back to the episode "Beaver Finds a Wallet," I would've thought it would be funny if the woman sent the gift before she got the thank you note, and then Ward would have been ashamed that he doubted the woman.

I would've totally changed "Beaver's Ice Skates." Maybe make the shoes just a size too big, or have the salesman try to trick Beaver into buying something else instead of the ice skates a-la Larry with the bow and arrow instead of the camera for Wally.

I agree. Since LITB characters actually progressed over time (to some degree), it would have been nice to have seen Eddie and Lumpy get their come-uppance, realize they were wrong, apologize, and continue as annoying but humbler friends.

I also thought June overreacted in the episode about Wally's Elvis-like hairstyle. She seemed more concerned with what people would think than with her son's feelings. True, it was the more homogenous and conservative late '50s/early '60s, but still! June was usually more understanding and patient to let her kids' "phases" work their own way out.

Thankfully that didn't happen, the later seasons minus Eddie would have meant more episodes with awkward aged Beaver. No thanks, I'll stick with the clods, their episodes in the later years were far more entertaining than any of the ones featuring older Beaver.

EDIT: Not saying I don't like any of the later episodes focusing on the Beav, I just prefer his early years, and prefer the Wally, Eddie episodes in the later years.

In the last season, Jerry Mathers looked like he lost weight, had long arms that he often kept in his pockets; and every time he said something, he had a smirk look and an accusing tone.
