I just realized that "Chrissy and the Guru" aired on October 24, 1978, only a few weeks before the tragedy at Jonestown, which happened on November 18, 1978.

The TC episode dealt with the deception of a wannabe cult leader and his brainwashing techniques (in a very light and funny way), and his desire to take all of his followers hundreds of miles away to Big Sur. Only a couple weeks later all of that would be all too real at Jonestown. Weird!

I remember that episode. They referred to the lettuce as Ralph! And, in very much the same way that Chrissy got revenge on the group leader, Rurun got revenge on the high priest and high priestess of the organization. Good for them!
