For years the great people at SO have talked about what they would air if they had the power to create a tv channel. We've seen the mock schedules over the years. So here's my question, how do you start a tv channel? Its something that I've been wanting to do for years. Obviously, you need capital which I dont have but else?

I researched this once and you have to obtain permission from the FCC and all sorts of licenses to get started.

Putting together a streaming channel wouldn't be all that hard to do. There's a few streaming channels like Toonami Aftermath and The Deep 13 that have built up a pretty decent viewership. I mean if you aren't worried about infringing copyrights. I know another channel called Nick Reboot played with fire as far as that goes and are soon to pay for it. The amount of money studios will want for their content (if they don't laugh at the idea of licensing to you) will be exorbitant.

Pirate television:

Unless the OP is seriously interested in starting an obviously illegal pirate TV station and willing to assume the risk of getting caught and the smackdown that comes along with it then your link serves absolutely no purpose.

I wasn't advocating, just throwing out that this stuff exists. I seriously doubt the OP is really planning to start a TV network.
