These four men have been the most predominate play-by-play voices for Major League Baseball on television (each representing the four major American television networks, Joe Buck w/ Fox, Bob Costas w/ NBC, Sean McDonough w/ CBS, and Al Michaels w/ ABC) for the past 30 years or so. With the exception of Vin Scully (who I don't want to include in this discussion since Scully is generally regarded as the greatest baseball broadcaster ever and covered the World Series for NBC in 1984, 1986, and 1988) and Jack Buck (who called the World Series for CBS from 1990-91 and whom I thought that it would be unfair to have him "compete" against his son, Joe), these for men have called the every World Series on TV since 1983 (when Al Michaels called the World Series for ABC w/ Howard Cosell and Earl Weaver).

What about Jim Nantz?

Jim Nantz never called Major League Baseball for network television let alone, the World Series.

Man, thats tough. All 4 of them have been very good. Maybe Micheals is number 1 just because he called more games than McDonough did. But McDonough is very good and underrated. Costas I see more as a host guy than anything else. Buck is good too.

1)Micheals
2)McDonough
3)Costas
4)Buck

That's very tough. You could make the argument for any of the 4 to be number 1.

Oh I see, no World Series airing in CBS.

This poll should be titled Most Annoying Baseball Announcer.

Joe Buck would get my vote.

Not to repeat myself, but CBS last broadcast Major League Baseball (including the World Series) from 1990-1993. Jack Buck worked w/ Tim McCarver for the first two years and Sean McDonough worked w/ McCarver for the last two years of their contract.

If the Cubs make this years World Series I'm turning down my TV and listening to the radio. No damn way am I listening to Joe Buck. If I had to pick I am taking Bob Costas.
