(The NY Mets won the NLCS, 4 games to 0, by beating the Chicago Cubs 8-3.)

(Ed meets Ralph for lunch in the bus company locker room.)

Ralph: "Norton, that was a great series."

Ed: "The Mets blasted the Cubs. Oh boy! They are going to the World Series."

Ralph: "The misery of those Cubs continues. I always said that in this series, something had to give. Either the Mets go to the World Series for the first time in 15 years or the Cubs go to the World Series for the first time in 70 years. I thought that this series would get high ratings. I bet TBS must be disappointed since the series wrapped up in four."

Ed: "What does TBS stand for anyway?"

Ralph: "Um...it stands for Television Broadcasting Station."

(Crowd laughs loudly since that it is so untrue. TBS stands for Turner Broadcasting Station.)

(Joe Fenstablau comes by.)

Joe: "Ralph, looks like your Mets got lucky again. They got lucky with the Dodgers and now the Cubs. I believe that the Mets luck will run out. The long layoff will work against them when the Royals or Blue Jays beat them."

Ralph: "If they do beat them, I will accept the defeat gracefully."

Joe: "YOU? Accept defeat GRACEFULLY? I heard you curse a blue streak when you lose a pool game to Ed as well as a bowling ball game."

Ralph: "The latter was only because a ball landed on my foot."

Ed: "When you hopped around in pain, I thought the whole alley was going to shake."

(Ralph rolls his eyes.)

Joe: "I would like to see you accept defeat. Why don't we watch game one together with Norton and if you do, I will give you $50."

Ralph: "A mere bag of shells. You got the bet."

(Ralph sings a song about accepting defeat gracefully.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!"
