(The NY Mets won the NLDS, three games to two, by beating the LA Dodgers 3-2.)
(Ralph & Ed are walking up to the Kramden apartment.)
Ed: "That was a great game Ralph-ie boy! To think, you thought that the Mets were going to blow it."
Ralph: "I didn't think that Norton. I knew that the Mets were going to beat those BUM Dodgers."
(They enter into the Kramden apartment. They meet the wives.)
Alice: "I see that you boys are happy. I hope that you two aren't liquored up."
Ed: "No, but Ralph is all BLOWN UP."
Ralph: "Oh, you are a riot Norton. A real riot. That was a great series. Now, they will force the Chicago Cubs to extend their 107-year-long drought."
Trixie: "107 years? Wow!"
Ralph: "Something has gotta give in this series. Either the Mets go to the World Series for the first time in 15 years or the Cubs go to the World Series for the first time in 70 years. Something has gotta give."
Ed: "You know what Ralph. Today is a sad day."
Ralph: "Why?"
Ed: "Vin Scully is probably never going to call another World Series win. Next year is going to mark his 67th year broadcasting with the Dodgers and he will be 89."
Ralph: "You mean that BUM that didn't stay in New York." (sarcastically): "What a shame. I bet I can call baseball games better than him. Calling games is so easy. All you do is sit in a chair and watch the game as well as eat some food. I would love that."
Ed: "You would really love the sitting down and EATING part."
Ralph (yells): "ALL RIGHT NORTON! LET'S GO! LET'S GO!"
(Ralph tries to fight Ed. The girls try to separate them.)
(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!"
(Crowd cheers.)
