Thanks for the laughs. That was a good joke. You cannot possibly be even remotely serious. These are all classics that have endured for many years and people still want to see them, even though they may appear dated and tiresome. They are still funny and fun to watch.
I'm sorry but you are not getting your wish. Too bad!!
Michael cole 10-13-2015, 05:44 PM Well I think Lucy should be taken off Metv. Its been run to death on 10 other channels already. I Do Love Lucy, but it's on WAY too much.
The other shows except, Gilligans island, I don't. Like.
MeTv should get rid of every show I don't like, and keep each one I do. Same for all the other networks.

Sir, I don't think his comment was intended as a joke. It's just his opinion.
Mr. Television 10-13-2015, 06:04 PM All the shows they have on are classics. Maybe some should take a break for awhile like Gunsmoke and Bonanza.
BigManMike 10-13-2015, 06:05 PM I have the entire series of I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island on DVD so I have no reason to watch them on MeTV. The Honeymooners is alright, not really a fan of the other two either. But what I want them to get rid of the most are those boring Westerns in the afternoon. I dot know how anyone actually likes those shows.

Personal Preferences. I enjoy westerns a lot. And there are people who don't like them. It all has to do with your taste in tv shows. Some people find westerns boring or uninteresting. Then there's people like me who are entertained by westerns and the old west.

I like Westerns. I think they should keep their Saturday afternoon western blocks. They should just change the weekday lineup.
Mr. Television 10-13-2015, 06:26 PM I wouldn't mind them bringing back The Untouchables and The Fugitive. I didn't get Me-TV when they were on.
Michael cole 10-13-2015, 06:26 PM Monday-Friday instead of having Gunsmoke, Bonanza, And The Riflemen, they should add in these 3 cop shows:
1:00P.M- The Fugitive
2:00P.M.- Cannon
3:00P.M.- Mannix
Now THAT would be a good weekday schedule along with the other shows.

I wouldn't mind that.

Remember The Rookies ? A cop show from the 60s
Mr. Television 10-13-2015, 06:38 PM Remember The Rookies ? A cop show from the 60s
Yea that was a good show. There's many great dramas from the 60's , 70's and 80's.

If you're talking about this one, its the '70's

Bonniegirl 10-13-2015, 08:52 PM I could go for The Rookies, Kojak, Cannon, Baretta (which THAT would never happen, that's off for good because of Robert Blake killing his wife), or as we said yesterday, Streets of San Francisco and Mod Squad instead of The afternoon Westerns. Also I wish Mash and Andy Griffith would be given a rest too! They are ran WAY too much!!
Also if they would put on Room 222 and Marcus Welby MD!!!;)Or how about Family, the show Kristy Mc Nichol was in! I'd love to see that again! Do you all remember that show?
littletydramon 10-13-2015, 08:58 PM Me-TV should pick up some lesser played series. A good choice for weekends would be the 80s one season wonder, "Best of The West". A really funny Western Sitcom that had guest stars such as Christopher Lloyd and Betty White.
I think it's about time we forgot about Westerns in general. That was television's most overrated genre.

No the most overrated genre is reality tv.

I would love to see Baretta again. Haven't seen it since it went off the air. Another one I'd love to see is Police Woman. Haven't seen that since the 70's either.

I really dislike both, but I will concede to your point. However MeTv still needs more sitcoms and fewer Westerns on their schedule.

Both of those shows need to return to retro stations, along with Chico and The Man. I've never seen any episodes of those three shows.

I've been calling for the return of Chico and the Man ever since I joined SO. Except for a couple episodes, I haven't seen it since 1978. It aired on TV Land before I had it.

I thought that the suggestion was that the introduction of new classic TV shows to MeTV may necessitate the removal of some existing overplayed "classic" TV shows to keep its schedule fresh. For example, The Carol Burnett Show had been extinct from reruns for a decade or so prior to showing up on the MeTV schedule.

^^^ This! I'd like to Me-Tv add more sitcoms and cut back on crime dramas. Like the crime fighting morning block. That's a bit too much, although I love all the shows. As for westerns they should have the western block start earlier.
Rewinder 10-17-2015, 06:20 PM Has Best of the west ever been in syndication on TV Land back then?

I know, me too. I'd love to see Baretta again, but I seriously think that is a no-no ,not politically correct to show it and it will never be run again since Robert Blake's wife's murder !
