by Michael Ausiello
October 13, 2015
This was inevitable: Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has elected to host "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 7, NBC announced Tuesday.
Sia will serve as musical guest.
Taran Killam has been portraying The Donald since the start of Season 41 last month.
Trump previously hosted SNL in 2004.

On the bright side, this won't receive much media attention...

Donald Trump's "SNL" Ratings See Huge Boost since Jan. 2012
by Matt Webb Mitovich
November 8, 2015
Yes, Donald Trump, the ratings for your SNL hosting gig were huuuuuuge.
This weekend’s edition of the long-running NBC sketch comedy averaged a 6.6 rating and 16 share in metered-market households, marking SNL‘s best overnight numbers since Jan. 7, 2012 when Charles Barkley hosted with musical guest Kelly Clarkson.
In the coveted 18-49 demo, Trump’s controversial SNL outing drew a 2.7 metered-market rating/13 share, the show’s best tallies since Feb. 1, 2014 (Melissa McCarthy/Imagine Dragons).

That’s what the New York Post is wondering after the much-hyped hosting appearance turned out to be "light on Trump (http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/donald-trump-saturday-night-live-12-minutes-1201636040/) — and also light on laughs.” PLUS: Cast members seemed (http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-11-08/kind-of-dead-as-trump-hosts-saturday-night-live) like they didn't want to be there, Trump's episode was worse than bad (http://www.vox.com/culture/2015/11/8/9690978/saturday-night-live-donald-trump) -- it was boring, Trump’s sketches were weak, timid or predictable (http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/donald-trump-saturday-night-live-host-review-1201636027/), it was surprising Trump took a backseat (http://time.com/4103978/donald-trump-saturday-night-live-review) role on the show, this was SNL at its nadir (http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/donald-trumps-appearance-shows-snl-its-nadir-228101), and about 500 people protested Trump (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCUpPIa8Skc) outside 30 Rock.

I thought it was pretty lame and a lot of it was just a big Trump-fomercial

I didn't watch the Trump one but I did watch a recent episode. Good to see SNL still doesn't know how to end a skit, and good to see I haven't missed a thing since I stopped watching it in the 90s.

I read that the ratings were solid, but not spectacular.

I thought the following week's episode hosted by Elizabeth Banks was a hundred times better - probably one of the best episodes in the past three years.
