Happy 70 to Chicago Born Actor/Singer/Songwriter/Pastor

Clifton Duncan Davis

He's best known for playing the role of Clifton Curtis on the abc 70's sitcom That's My Mama and Rev. Ruben Gregory on the hit NBC 80's sitcom Amen

He's also, a songwriter best known for writing Hit Songs such as "Lookin' Through the Windows" which was a Top 20 Pop Hit for The Jackson 5 and "Never Can Say Goodbye" which was a Top 10 Pop Hit for both The Jackson 5 and Disco Legend Gloria Gaynor

Gaynor's Version also became the very 1st Single to hit #1 on the Disco/Dance Charts since its debut in 1974

Davis also appeared on Game Shows such as Match Game w/the late Gene Rayburn, The $10,000 Pyramid w/the late Dick Clark, Super Password w/the late Bert Convy, The NEW Hollywood Squares w/John Davidson, Wordplay w/Tom Kennedy, Win, Lose or Draw and The NEW $100,000 Pyramid w/John Davidson

He also appeared as the mayor in the 1999 Film Any Given Sunday

Clifton Davis is also a Pastor

He holds a BA in Theology from Oakwood University and a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University. From 1987 to 1989, he was an Associate Pastor of the Loma Linda University SDA Church in southern California. For the last 25 years he has been an active part of Youthville, USA a children's services organization. He served as co-founder and co-pastor of Welcome Christian Center in Huntington Beach, California.

Davis is a licensed minister by St. Luke Baptist Church, New York, New York. He has had an interdenominational ministry for over than 30 years. He has served as National Spokesperson and Advisory Board Chairman. He is the emcee and host of The Most Soulful Sound, an annual gospel choir competition in Raleigh, North Carolina. He also hosts an annual celebrity golf tournament in Elizabeth City, NC at Elizabeth City State University, where he served as Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement. Since the end of 2005 Davis has held the position of Executive Director for Welcome America, a non-profit organization located in Philly that produces the largest Fourth of July celebration each year in the nation.

Davis is a frequent guest host on TBN-Trinity Broadcasting Network. Davis also hosted the Gospel Superfest TV show from 2000 to 2008, which is syndicated by United Television

Davis is the author of an autobiographical essay entitled "A Mason Dixon Memory" in which he recounts his experiences as an eighth grader dealing with prejudice on a trip to a southern state.

He also hosted Christian Artists Talent Search for The Inspiration Network and Family Reunion: A Gospel Music Celebration for Pat Robertson's CBN Family Channel

Davis also appeared on other popular dramas such as Police Story, Vega$, Any Day Now, City of Angels, Party of Five, American Dreams and many others

He also appeared on TV Sitcoms such as The Love Boat, Living Single, In the House, Sparks, The Jamie Foxx Show, Malcolm & Eddie, Half & Half, Grace Under Fire, The John Larroquette Show and many others
