"500 Questions" Renewed for Season 2 at ABC

ABC has picked up a second season of event game show "500 Questions" from Mark Burnett and Mike Darnell for premiere in 2016.

Produced by United Artists Media Group in association with Warner Horizon Television, the first season of "500 Questions", billed as a primetime event by ABC, aired in May for seven straight nights.

In "500 Questions", contestants try to answer 500 general knowledge questions without getting three wrong in a row.



The show delivered consistent ratings throughout its run, with the season finale providing ABC’s best summer entertainment performance in its Thursday time period in two years, according to the network.

Burnett and Phil Parsons executive produce. Ed Egan is the co-executive producer.



“When we created 500 Questions, our hope was to bring the event game show back to primetime,” said Darnell. “Thanks to ABC, we had a great summer run and achieved that goal. We are excited that the show is coming back for a second season.”

“I am so glad we are back; I love this game show event,” added Burnett. “To win, these geniuses need both brains and endurance as they tackle television’s toughest questions.”

Is 500 Questions also gonna have a new host for Season 2? Because I heard that Richard Quest is not returning as host and I would like to know the reason for this,

"Nightline’s" Dan Harris To Host "500 Questions" Season 2 on ABC

"Nightline" co-anchor Dan Harris has been tapped as host for Season 2 of ABC’s event game show "500 Questions", from Mark Burnett and Mike Darnell.

Produced by MGM Television in association with Warner Horizon Television, the series will return this year.

Richard Quest was an excellent host. It's a shame they couldn't get him back.

I kind of did like Richard Quest as host. Oh well maybe I can answer more than 2 questions this time around. =)

I've never heard of Dan Harris before but hopefully now that he's the new star of 500 Questions the show will be better when Season 2 of 500 Questions debuts later this year. I saw Richard Quest on 500 Questions when it came out and while the game was fun Richard Quest I disliked as the star of 500 Questions because he was so annoying. I wish Dan Harris good luck as the new star of 500 Questions,

I saw today's episode of 500 Questions when I woke up from my Saturday rest and I don't know why or how this show got a second season. When I saw Dan Harris host it I knew 500 Questions was trying to get a new image. But I can tell that ABC is trying to make 500 Questions a mega successful game show like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and with Dan Harris as the new star I can see ABC will score big ratings by the time 500 Questions completes it's 5 nights of episodes. But I still would like to see more trivia based game shows on ABC someday because ABC is wonderful for game shows

I saw four episodes of 500 Questions and I thought ABC made it better than ever and Dan Harris is such a cool new star for 500 Questions and I think Dan Harris did a really smart job in replacing Richard Quest as host for 500 Questions and I think ABC has really improved it in an amazing way. This is one show I would like to see as a tablet app because I was very impressed with this season of 500 Questions

I think it's weird when TV journalists do non-journalist TV jobs. But it's been done before.....

I agree but I think back in the 50s even Walter Cronkite hosted a game show so the lines between journalism and entertainment have always been blurred.

Does a blue moon go for a week each May, because that's how long the show had ran in each of its 2 "seasons".
