Wow, this episode... I remember that Philip kept drooling over Janice, and that Vivian got rightfully angry with him, and that Will slept with Janice, despite the fact that he was dating her daughter (Wendy). But I managed to forget about the subplot, that Will and Carlton made a bet on who Wendy would choose between them. And yep, she chose Will. Because there was no other possibility, even if he would end up sleeping with her mother.
Of course, Wendy had no idea that Will would be seduced by her mother. There was no way, that she could have seen that coming. And sure, there is the possibility that Carlton would have been just as easily seduced by Janice, had things been different and Wendy had chosen him instead. But we can at least give him the benefit of a doubt, that we can't give Will. And it was painful to see her treat Carlton as if he was leprous and just drool over Will, when I knew how the episode would turn out.
I guess I just can't understand the preconception that Will is the desirable guy, and that no girl will want Carlton, when I feel the other way around. Give me an dorky "loser" over a suave lady's man any day of the week! And I just felt that Wendy was asking for being burned, when she was shallow enough to choose Will over Carlton. Yeah, I guess I'm being unfair to her. And wow, her mother was the worst kind of skank! But it just makes me feel less sympathy for her than I would have liked to...
