View Full Version : Danny Pintauro reveals he's HIV positive Michael cole 09-27-2015, 11:21 PM This is shocking! I thought hiv was a thing of the past, I guess not. I hope he gets better:-) jayman75 09-28-2015, 09:36 AM How could you think "HIV is a thing of the past?" Where have you been? I'm sorry, but Pintauro was long-engaged in some very unhealthy habits, and posted very pornographic images of himself online. He risked the health of the people he slept with... and now suddenly he's an ambassador? It's a sad health situation he is facing, but choices made long ago impacted his future. They are choices. He risked the health of the people he slept with... and now suddenly he's an ambassador? That's quite the assumption. Are you basing this solely on the fact that he shared pictures with someone who then decided to make them public? That doesn't exactly equate to him being "long-engaged in very unhealthy habits." Yes, obviously he made a poor choice, but that doesn't mean he slept his way through town on a regular basis. Also, just because he didn't share his HIV positive status publicly does not mean that he didn't share it privately. You have no clue if he put anyone at risk or not after finding out his status. jayman75 09-28-2015, 10:06 AM That's quite the assumption. Pintauro just stated his diagnosis came in 2003. His photos and solicitations appeared online in 2007. They were current images then. That's four years that he was aware of his illness, and four years of potentially impacting others. HuntingtonM15 09-28-2015, 10:11 AM Pintauro just stated his diagnosis came in 2003. No, just as much you don't know that he did. HuntingtonM15 09-28-2015, 10:17 AM No, just as much you don't know that he did. Exactly, which is why there is no reason to make any negative assumptions. TMC 09-30-2015, 06:02 PM https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/alyssa-milano-sobs-discussing-danny-000000629.html On this past Saturday's episode of Oprah's Where Are They Now?, Danny Pintauro revealed to the world that he has been HIV-positive for the past 12 years. Now his Who's the Boss co-star, Alyssa Milano, is speaking out (and shedding tears!) on The Talk about Pintauro's decision to share such a deep secret with the world. "I hate that it took him so long to feel comfortable, but I'm so glad that he is able to express himself now, and I guarantee you he will change so many lives," Milano said as tears streamed down her face. The pro-breastfeeding mom continued, "I'm so grateful that this disease is now being discussed again because it feels like there was such a long time that it wasn't, and he is a beacon of light, and he will be. I'm proud." Two of Pintauro's Who's the Boss co-stars have known the truth for many years. Judith Light, who played his mom, Angela Bower, on the beloved '80s sitcom has been a strong supporter, as well as Tony Danza. However, Milano admitted that she had "no idea" about Pintauro's HIV-positive diagnosis. "I didn’t talk for many years after the show was over because when the show ended it was a different time," she explained. "We didn’t have cell phones or Facebook… No texting or anything, so I lost contact with him for a long time. This was the first that I have heard of it." ET talked to Pintauro on Monday, when he shared that he himself was devastated when he heard the news 12 years ago. "It's like anybody hearing you have terminal cancer or something awful," Pintauro said candidly. "My life is forever changed." |
