I just saw it for the first time in YEARS and a thought struck me: for those who have seen it, do you think it was the inspiration for "THE TERMINATOR?"

I wouldn't be surprised if Cameron was inspired by it, the Terminator, and the Gunslinger are very similar in how they move and being unstoppable machines.

Also, I've wondered if Cyborg 2087 (1966) also had some inspiration on The Terminator, as it's about a cyborg that travels back in time.
