The Bay City Rollers, whose iconic plaid outfits once inspired widespread “tartar-mania” in the U.K., announced at a recent press conference in Glasgow they will reunite for a special show in December. As Billboard reported, only three of the original five - singer Les McKeown, guitarist Stuart Wood, and bassist Alan Longmuir - are currently set for the Dec. 20 reunion show at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom. However, the band said they’ve been working on a new single and have been trying to convince guitarist Eric Faulkner to rejoin, so more shows might be in the future.

“You think we’re doing it for money but we’re doing it for the glory of Scotland and the glory of the tartan,” McKeown told reporters.

If you’ve never heard of the Bay City Rollers before, you probably don’t live in the U.K. The band was a sensation there in the ’70s but 1976’s “Saturday Night” was their only No. 1 hit in the U.S.

They were huge in the UK. I wonder if Stuck in the 1970s remembers them. https://youtu.be/ytii7-bUxuk
