......who never leave the genre?
When I was in college back in the mid 1980's, I used to watch Days of Our Lives during my lunch hour. Watched it for three or four years, graduated college, got a job, and sort of forgot about DOOL for real life.
I have been out of the country for almost 15 years in China and now am finally home for a visit. Channel surfing, and ran into Days again. What shocked me was that a lot of the same actors are still on there after almost 30 years. First I see Steve "Patch" Johnson. Then his wife (?) Kayla. The same actor who plays John Black/Roman Brady, Marlena, and the actor A Martinez is still on there.
The guy who plays Patch returned back to DOOL from another soap, and basically this is all he has done. He is a good actor. Actually all the actors I have listed are excellent, but do soaps. Soaps to me is like the fast food of television acting, a lot of famous people started on soaps and then went on to bigger and better things. Dunno. I guess the work is steady and they make good money.
