Didn't really make much sense because dad let me stay in the room while he watched Dallas and LA Law.

I wasn't forbidden from watching anything. I was 5 when AITF started airing and I watched it pretty much from the beginning.

Dallas and Knots Landing were off the air for along time already too! :confused: And Dark Shadows went off the air in like 71 or 72,,I was still a little girl ! Well it does pop up in reruns now and than I guess! :confused:

I don't know. I grew up on Batman reruns. I watched it every day after school but yet I was only 3 when it went off the air. I don't know if he's 14 or not but watching TV shows as a kid doesn't prove anything. I watched lots of shows when I was a kid that ended before I was born.

My parents weren't as strict that I could watch anything except of course on school nights then 10:00pm was the latest we could stay up. Now on Saturdays I like to stay up real late but as a kid it was damn near impossible to do so.

For quite a few years in my family The Simpsons was forbidden in my family. My Mom didn't care for Bart and some of the situations in the show. Seeing some of it as an adult now I both understand why and I don't. There was a lot worse my sister and I could have been watching yet at the same time looking at some of the material I get it. Overall though looking at the show now I wasn't really missing very much.

Back when I was a youngster , shows were pretty tame so I didn't have TV restrictions if they were on early enough!

Even Dark Shadows after school. I watched with my Mom and older siblings! ;)

Nothing I can remember. If a show was too adult for me, I probably wasn't interested in watching it anyways.

I agree with about Roseanne. My parents would watch it everyday in SYNDICATION. As soon as it comes on, I would get up and leave. But now as a young adult, I find the show funny and can watch multiple times

The only thing I remember that I wasn't supposed to watch was The Three Stooges. But it was on early weekend mornings so I watched it anyway. The ironic thing is that I didn't really like it that much and gave up watching it on my own.

I couldn't watch The Simpsons either. I wish I didn't wind-up watching that show once that ban got lifted!

The two other shows that were outlawed was Roseanne and Ren and Stimpy. I even try to get into these shows, but I can't! Roseanne Barr is just rude and mean! Ren and Stimpy was just TOO vulgar for me...it should've been on MTV!

At one point Tiny Toons was outlawed because of Buster and Babs being bad role-models, but that ban was very short...it was when Animaniacs came-out so we watched TTA as well. Another was Nick Arcade because of the enemies that were in the final round...they were sorcerers...so now it makes sense that they were villains...Scorcha seemed to be the hardest...and she was a villainess. That ban was shortly lifted too....

i remember watching The Days And Nights Of Molly Dodd with my Mom i wasn't forbidden to watch that show but in my Sunday school class they were talking about that show a little bit they talked about China Beach too in my class at Sunday school

All in the Family. Mom thought Archie Bunker was too racist, he didn't like African Americans. And also AITF spinoff The Jeffersons. She felt the same way about George, that he didn't like white people.

I remember back when MAUDE aired that controversial two-part episode about Maude deciding to have an abortion, my brothers , sisters and myself weren't allowed to watch it.

However I did anyway:lol: :lol:
