On the 19th of this month, I started a thread that had to do with the Beatles. I tied it into "Gimme a Break!" by mentioning how this band signed their first recording contract the same year that the actress who played Katie from this show was born. Well, the same magazine also featured an article about Rod Stewart. Dose anyone here remember the context in which he was mentioned in this series? In was in the first-season episode, "Your Prisoner is Dead". Early in the episode Katie came home from the store in which she was supposed to buy things for Nell, Julie and Samantha as well as herself. However, the handsomeness of the boy working there put her in a trance to the point to where she forgot it all! Naughty, naughty! The thing that she was supposed to get for Julie was cream rinse for her hair. Julie was very uptight being that she had a date that night. When it got revealed that she had forgotten Julie's cream rinse, Julie threw a major fit! She said "Wonderful! My first real date and I will look like Rod Stewart"! Reading this article brought me right back to this line! Another thing that Katie was supposed to buy was a pair of pantyhose for Nell. However, getting asked out by the boy in the store caused her to forget that too. Julie handled her anger by saying to Katie "it is just like you Katie to put your own personal lust ahead of Nell's pantyhose"! Hearing a cutie pie like Julie talk about pantyhose really made me feel giddy! Before signing off, there is one more thing that I would like to mention about this episode. On various occasions, I have written about the fact that I never really cared for the character of Katie. As much external beauty as she possessed, I thought her personality undid it all. This is why I am so fond of "Samantha's Protest" which was made two years after the episode that I am currently writing about. Seeing Katie get her bubble burst at the end really made my day! However, one thing that I really liked about Katie in "Your Prisoner is Dead" is the purse that she was carrying in her first scene. It was a tan bag that went over her shoulder. The bag came down to her waist and really complemented the jeans that she had on. The jeans, in turn, did a great job on her figure. Nice going girl!
