View Full Version : DVD Breakdown for Empty Nest set I am working on
JoshLarson24 09-18-2015, 02:44 AM Here is the breakdown for each disc
Season 1 - 5 discs
Season 2 - 5 discss
Season 3 - 5 discs
Season 4 - 6 discs
Season 5 - 6 discs
Season 6 - 6 discs
Season 7 - 5 discs
There are no more than 4 to 5 episodes on each disc and the quality is amazing. The visual quality is so much better than what is currently being offered. I am currently working on getting seasons 4 and 5 on DVD but the other seasons are already on disc.
Here is a clip of the theme song for those of you who may not remember or never watched an episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnF6ue_8eu4
This clip is not from my recordings so excuse the bad quality.

I have not even thought about it yet. Laff has a few more episodes left of season 5 to air before I have the complete set.

Yes they seem uncut. A few episodes run for 23 minutes or longer. They are definitely longer than what aired on Hallmark
JoshLarson24 10-07-2015, 09:16 AM 2 more episodes left to be aired before my set is complete. The final 2 episodes I need air later on today. I can't believe a channel finally started airing this show after all these years!
I am even more excited to be owning every episode of this very unappreciated series. I love this show more than The Golden Girls which is aired non stop on every channel it is on.
Now if Laff could get the rights to Nurses, I would be able to have all of the spin offs to The Golden Girls.

Which network did you record The Golden Palace from?

Lifetime. I managed to get them all when they aired in the early 2000s. I did get a few original run episodes in a trade years ago but I have no clue where I put those

Nice job.
I should point out though that the series did get decent ratings when it aired on Hallmark several years back.

That is true but I could never fathom why they removed it. Maybe they lost the rights or had a limit to how long they could air it. I am just glad that Laff got the rights to the full series because the show got very little air time from Hallmark.
Laff seems to be airing the show uncut. I have the horrible quality NBC episode DVD set that has been floating around and can tell that the run times are almost exactly the same. Only a few seconds difference so the edits were very minor if there are any.
JoshLarson24 10-08-2015, 09:43 PM The show must be doing well in other countries because it has been airing on an off for years in other counties.
MRPITT 10-27-2015, 01:21 PM I recently started receiving Laff and Its great the treatment they are giving it is so much better than Hallmark. Its also nice they are airing 6 episodes a day. I am thrilled to finally be able to record a complete set.
JoshLarson24 10-27-2015, 01:28 PM I am glad more people are finally getting this channel. They do well by the shows they air.
Each airing is in a different season on most days so they will not be aired in order unless you follow one specific airing time. The best part about it airing 6 times a day is that you get the entire series in a couple of months.
I was just about to apologies about not getting back to you about our trade but I see you are making your own set which is great. Enjoy the channel!
Now that I have finished recording this series I have moved to recording Archie Bunker's Place on FamilyNet since they are unedited.
