Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Scooter and the gang are all back with not one show but two. Of course, one of those shows is The Muppets that debuts on ABC on September 22. The other show is the show within a show that sees Piggy as the host of an ABC late-night program on after Jimmy Kimmel – with ex-boyfriend Kermit as the executive producer. It was pretty bad. Not a single laugh for me in the first episode.

The mistake here is putting the Muppets in the "real" world and adapting them to it, whereas to me, in the original Muppet show, it felt like it was the Muppets' world and the humans had to adapt to it somehow.

This.

And I don't like the rude jokes. I don't care what year it is, The Muppets should never be telling sexual jokes or swearing.

I agree. The great thing about the classic show is that while there was some flirting and some hints at stuff, they never resorted to being crude or rude.

Plus, it had charm and wit and was entertaining for both adults and children.

That makes me not want to watch it. I'm afraid the new shows would ruin my memories of them. Better just rerun the Muppet Show.
