Oh, too bad. Because I always thought FRIENDS would have worked with an African American cast.

Living Single was a show in the 90's very much like Friends! Only the cast was Black not White.:) Queen Latifah starred in it! And instead of three girls and three guys , there were four girls and two guys! :) It was a pretty good show, but didn't run as long as Friends or have the same popularity , it was just on W/B not a major network! One of the guys was really cute and they lived in a really cool apartment duplex! ;)

Living Single was a FOX series for all 5 seasons. I guess it must have aired on some WB stations when it went into syndication.

I always thought that they should have had one member of the group on 30 Rock be inexplicably a different ethnicity and they refer to that person as a brother or sister with no further explanation.

I am surprised that they didn't just do an all black version of Friends - they did copy-cat versions of every other conceivable variation of it.
