It's the Beginning of THE END.

It started nearly five decades ago with a crack of thunder, a distant bell ringing and then that monstrous riff that shook the earth. The heaviest rock sound ever heard.

In that moment Heavy Metal was born, created by a young band from Birmingham, England barely out of their teens.

Now it ENDS, the final tour by the greatest Metal Band of all time, BLACK SABBATH. Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler close the final chapter in the final volume of the incredible BLACK SABBATH story.

BLACK SABBATH’s farewell tour, THE END, begins on January 20, 2016 and it promises to surpass all previous tours with their most mesmerizing production ever.

When this tour concludes, it will truly be THE END,

THE END of one of most legendary bands in Rock ’n Roll history...

Actually, they're playing just down the street from me on February 6th, in Tacoma. Gotta go see them for ONE LAST TIME, they were my first concert, on Saturday, November 14, 1976, a few weeks before my 14th birthday!!

Sad that this is the end for the band that launched metal. But Tony Iommi is currently in remission from cancer, and the band is a bit past their prime. Geezer is a bit fatigued from his long stint. Ozzy still plans on his solo career.

But it would be nice if Bill Ward came back on board. He has had some legal issues with the rest of the band, which turned into questions about his health. He's not on the best of terms with the band.

Did anyone else prefer Dio over Ozzy?

I really liked Dio. I think he really added new life to Sabbath after the debacle with Ozzy in the late '70's. He gave the band a real mystique and made them more metal than they had been in a while.
