I prefer the softer, more feminine, Morgan played by Lily to the sassy "boy in a dress" brat that replaced her in Season 3.

I don't understand the treating girlyness as weakness. That's not feminism at all all and i place the "but (the female child) can be girly later in life!" in the same category as "but they are dead!" as a defence of people who were rightly reviled in life, given that the female child will never be a child again and you only get one life.

Why couldn't the original girl continue to play her any way unless it was the show's powers that be who wanted another girl to play her?

I prefer Lily as Morgan. The other Morgan was a snarky, 2-D brat with no warmth or chemistry with the other members of the Matthews clan.
