BTW: $100 in 1975 was like having $450 today
James had a crap job and they had no food stamps and turns down $100

It was JJ's painting. James had no right to decide whether or not to sell a painting that wasn't his. If JJ wanted to sell his painting, that would be his business.

I'd like to see James paint like JJ. LOL.
Then maybe he could put in his two cents.
Until then.... Shut the hell up, James.
It is JJ's painting and he is talented. JJ deserves to be paid no matter what

There was an episode where JJ was getting paid for a painting and immediately Florida is trying to goad him into using that money for Thelma's college fund. That was sickening. He shouldn't be guilted into using money that he earned by painted for Thelma's college fund. It was his money to do with what he pleased.

JJ wasn't "guilted" at all. JJ WANTED to help Thelma out with school. JJ was a kind and generous person. He was always ready to help his family out. There is nothing "sickening" about that. Too bad more people aren't as kind, thoughtful and selfless.
