On the 23rd of this month, I started a thread about an episode of "Friend's" that I thought was very similar to the episode of this show called "Samantha's Protest". However, given how much time and space it took for me to express the amount that I have already expressed, I decided to end the post. I did not want to be accused of putting the reader to sleep. However, there is still quite a bit more about the two episodes that I found strikingly similar. In the first post, I make clear that the main way that they were similar is that they both dealt with a pretty female's giddiness over a handsome male. On top of this, in both case, the female worked her butt off to get the male to ask her out and had no success. Poor babies! However, one thing that I did not get into so far is the fact that Rachel from "Friends" tried to invent ways to have a reason to make physical contact with Joshua. Very similar to the situation in which Katie linked arms with the handsome boy from the protest. There is another minor similarity that I think also deserves honorable mention. When Joshua first solicited Rachel's services, he explained his situation to her. He said that, on the day of his divorce, his ex-wife torched all of his cloths except for the suit on his back and something that turned out to be a skirt. Trying to be supportive, Rachel pointed out that at least it is a nice looking suit. Joshua jokingly said, "but I did not look so good taking it to the dry cleaners"! When Katie and Julie appeared for their first scene in "Samantha's Protest" the packages that they were carrying made it clear that they were coming back from the dry cleaners. However, the boy that Katie liked in "Samantha's Protest" was never scene or mentioned again throughout the remains of the series. There were a bunch of sequential episodes of "Friends" in which Joshua reappeared. I watched one less than an hour ago!

It's soooo hard to read your posts...You do talk about GAB in them but the topics really are hard to click on because they really don't make any connect with the series.

Well, in this post, the episode of "Gimme a Break!" that I concentrated on was "Samantha's Protest". I made a bunch of comparisons between things that went on in this episode with things that went on in an episode of "Friends". In the past, I have posted threads about things that went on in the same "Gimme a Break!" episode with episodes of "Silver Spoons", "The Brady Bunch" and the "Honeymooners". I hope this helps you to understand what I am on about.
