View Full Version : Now I am ready for Archie Bunkers Place but....
TVFactFan 08-24-2015, 06:27 PM it's being added to a channel I don't get in my area..........FamilyNet
I am done with watching All in the Family since I have watched numerous cycles. I would love to see ABP at some point.
Antenna TV needs to remove this show or add ABP.
I did watch seasons 1 and 2 of ABP on youtube but I want to see the other seasons too and watch it on my TV not computer

The former option would be less likely than the latter. Why would Antenna TV want to drop one of the biggest hits of all time?

But that means keep it in prime time forever?
But that means keep it in prime time forever?I guess so if the people keep watching.

So we have one channel airing ABP and no AITF and the other airing AITF and no ABP
LOL

FamilyNet currently airs AITF. They'll be airing both AITF and ABP starting this fall.
mets82 08-25-2015, 01:42 PM I do find it a kind of oxymoron that FAMILYNET would air AITF and ABP. I mean there not exactly family shows.

I agree ! I wouldn't mind seeing Archie Bunker's place. Although I was a big All in the Family fan first run as a kid and teenager, seeing it over and over again in reruns. I got pretty burned out of it!:( It would be cool if Antenna would give AITF a break and start showing ABP! But I'm not holding my breath, it won't be happening I'm sure!
Apparently lots of people are watching AITF on Antenna to be keeping it on all the time!

Funny how sitcoms portray married life for men. During AITF archie never went to see a friend or have a friend come over just him being around his wife all the time
Now that she is not alive on ABP he is around his friends and out of the house
biffbronson 08-26-2015, 05:33 AM I clearly remember watching Archie Bunker's Place in primetime -- specifically when it had its debut. It was odd to see Archie manning the former Kelsey's Bar.
But aside from Archie frequently deferring to the blind man, "Right Mr. Van Ranseleer?," I have no specific ABP memories at all. Which is odd, because I remember some of the late AITF storylines very well from primetime (like the fire, and Stephanie's arrival).

Why was it odd when he was already manning the bar in season 8 and 9 of AITF
mets82 08-28-2015, 04:19 PM I do remember seeing ABP on TVLand around the holidays in 2005 although I could be wrong.

They started showing it then and then they stopped showing it around Spring 2003.

I would buy it on DVD if it was available

Get a Roku (or some other streaming device), and you can watch YouTube on your TV.

Archie Bunkers Place has been removed from youtube
mets82 10-09-2015, 03:33 PM Why does that not surprise me?
TVFactFan 10-09-2015, 08:02 PM Why does that not surprise me?
I watched the whole first season on youtube a couple of years ago
Dianne3 10-10-2015, 04:03 PM I just finished watching ABP a little more than a month ago.
Once Billie was added, it became the Billie show with every 2nd or 3rd episode being about her.
ABP was watchable while Murray was on, but after he left and then Veronica ABP becomes boring.
Svenfan1234 07-27-2016, 02:35 PM Archie Bunker's Place is coming in 2017 to Antenna
Crusinforabrusin 07-27-2016, 02:53 PM I would buy it on DVD if it was available
The first season of Archie Bunkers Place is on DVD. I don't know about the other seasons

I seen that season on youtube already, I need season 2 and 3 now

You said "Archie manning." Haha.

I think that Archie did have friends come over at least once. It was when he was baby-sitting Little Joey. (Can anyone verify this?)
However, yes TV does depict a certain stereotype. It is as if Edith did not allow Archie bring his drunken friends over, but after she died, he made up for lost time and spends practically every day among them.
But also, Archie was very much a grouchy person who did not agree with anyone and preferred to be alone at home and on at least one episode he heard that his wife was having company and he said "You know I don't want anyone coming over here."

Yeah, he did. Also in the "Archie The Liberal" episode. There were other times too.
