Today, March 31st 2002 is the 7th anniversary of the death of Selena Quintanilla-Perez better known as just Selena. She was a beautiful person inside and out I'm sure. She had extraordinary talent. Even in death, she still lives through the legacy that she left behind. Her fans will always remember the music she brought to our attention, what she stood for, how she touched our lives, and that tragic day that we lost one of the brightes stars in the world. Selena is missed and will always be. God Bless You Selena and Rest In Peace.

I think that she was beautiful! All of the REALLY talented artists die young!! Aaliyah was amazing, too and they both died WAY too young, IMO!

She's been an idol of mine for as long as I can remember. I can remember coming home from school one day in March. I was 5. My mom told me she was shot.

A few days later I was listening to the TV and I heard she died. I didn't really grasp it, because I was only 5. But to this day she's always in my heart.

R.I.P. Selena.... Earth is missing an angel.

It doesn't seem like its been 7 years. It's a tragedy that she died so young, and died by the hands of someone that she thought she could trust. I love her song "Dreaming of You". I think that is my fave Selena song.

You all want to hear something odd... well I"ve got a cold and when I'm sick I sleep weird.... so anyways this was my dream last night...

Well first of all, I was dozing in and out of sleep. So anyways my dream was that I was on the phone with my friend Kristen and all these other weird people... I was blabing to them in some Spanish that I didn't even know what it ment. So then I started talking in my sleep... well I woke up and figured out what I was saying.... I was saying "Techno Cumbia" In my sleep. I found that very odd... so I went back to sleep. Next I dream that I'm standing next to Selena grave, and all of a sudden she's next to me. I'm so scared that I woke up calling for my mother in Spanish... which is weird because no one in my house speaks Spanish.

Well just thought I would share my weird dream. Kinda odd that I had that dream on her anniversary....

You just made me feel SO old. I was a Junior in High School when she was killed. I can remember we were supposed to have a test in English that day and when we came in our teacher was crying and she had the T.V. on. I asked her what was wrong and she said Selena had been shot. We watched the stand-off between Yolanda and the police the entire period. (I live about an hour from where Selena lived)

Ya know, we never did have that test.

In the Corpus area, things have calmed down alot since when she first died. Right after she died, her fans were just HORRIBLE at the cemetery. A friend of mine is burried just a few plots over from Selena and if anything was on any other plot, the fans would take it and put it on Selena's grave. It was really sad that they were doing that. I blame her father for that, but that's another, and a longer, story.

R.I.P. Selena. She was so beautiful and had so much potential. nancymckeon1987, i agree. both selena and aaliyah died way too young. How old was Selena when she was killed? And whatever happened with her mom, did they find her guilty? I saw the VHI Behind the Music story a long while ago, but i haven't hear anything on it.

She was 24.

Why would they find her mom guilty? She didn't do anything. Yolanda Saldivar, the President of her Fan Club, is who killed her.

Yes, Yolonda was found guilty. I have the transcripts of the court case here... I'll post the link when I find it

How particularly odd, how I just all of a sudden come across these a few minutes ago while I'm watching the movie...
