Patrick Stewart doesn’t expect to don a Starfleet uniform again. Stewart spoke with IGN (http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/08/21/patrick-stewart-doesnt-think-well-ever-see-captain-picard-again) promoting his new Starz series Blunt Talk (http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/2015/aug/21/blunt-talk-patrick-stewart-review?CMP=edit_2221) and said that he does’t see him playing Captain Picard again. Stewart played the character, of course, in Star Trek: The Next Generation and four films.

“It’s possible,” Stewart said. “I think it’s unlikely. But it’s possible. The series wrapped over 25 years ago and we’ve got a rather elderly Captain Picard now. So I don’t know. It would be… it could be entertaining.”

I can see them doing a movie with Picard having been promoted to Admiral and Riker as the Captain of the Enterprise. Picard and Riker would comminicate regularly over subspace so we would see Picard on the view screen throughout the movie.
