View Full Version : Facts of Life coming to TVLand in September tenter 08-20-2015, 03:04 PM http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2015/08/the-facts-of-life-coming-to-tv-land-in.html This will be the first time this show comes to TVLand. JR1 08-20-2015, 03:55 PM If it's the first time on the channel, how would it be "returns"? :) This is good to see- I haven't seen it regularly in ages. tenter 08-20-2015, 04:00 PM Sorry, not "returns", I meant to say it'll be first time showing on TVLand. Facts of Life have previously aired on Hub network, formerly on Nick at Nite in 2000-2001, little time on Teennick weekday mornings 2012 I think.. tlc38tlc38 08-20-2015, 05:58 PM Odd choice to put it on TV land. It'd fit better on Nick @ Nite. DJM77 08-20-2015, 07:13 PM This is surprising news. MrCleveland 08-20-2015, 08:32 PM Odd choice to put it on TV land. It'd fit better on Nick @ Nite. I think FOL should be on Antenna TV, they had the show Diffr'nt Strokes and FOL was its spin-off so why not? MikeLutton 08-20-2015, 10:13 PM or on encore black, got Diff rent strokes on there un cut no commercials TVFactFan 08-20-2015, 11:14 PM 12 years too late The Obsolete Man 08-22-2015, 09:56 AM 12 years too late And definitely a year too late. This would be thrilling news... if I couldn't pull out the box set and watch every episode whenever I wanted. BigManMike 08-22-2015, 10:55 AM Yes it's several years too late. I'm sure it will be butchered to death and have credit crunches making it unwatchable. Lucky for me. I have the complete series box set from Shout and I've enjoyed it. TVFactFan 08-22-2015, 02:20 PM And definitely a year too late. This would be thrilling news... if I couldn't pull out the box set and watch every episode whenever I wanted. Exactly, this would have been big news back in 2005 when the show wasn't on DVD or nowhere on cable TVFactFan 08-22-2015, 02:22 PM Yes it's several years too late. I'm sure it will be butchered to death and have credit crunches making it unwatchable. Lucky for me. I have the complete series box set from Shout and I've enjoyed it. It doesn't even seem like a TV Land type of show since the first 5 seasons are geared toward kids 10 to 17. Unless TV land will just air the last 2 seasons over and over:lol: retrofan05 08-26-2015, 11:07 AM It'd be nice if the started airing The Golden Girls on weekdays leading into or following The Facts of Life. The shows originally aired together on NBC and I think they go well together. '80sSitcoms 08-27-2015, 08:13 AM ^--- If anything would be paired with The Golden Girls, it should be Empty Nest. mets82 08-27-2015, 03:26 PM I'm glad FOL is coming to TVLand. I mean it cant be any worse then when they air on LOGO? They air the same damn ones all the time!!! I do know that TVLand will end credit crunch it to death. Now, I have a feeling it wont last long on TVLand. I mean this is TVLand we are talking about. Btw, will the show still air on Logo? BigManMike 08-27-2015, 04:42 PM What episodes do they play on Logo? And does Logo usually rate it TV-G or TV-PG? TVFactFan 08-27-2015, 07:30 PM I'm glad FOL is coming to TVLand. TVFactFan 08-27-2015, 10:07 PM Just don't assume or predict something that wasn't true. I will be all my paychecks in October it will be gone before 10/31 tenter 08-30-2015, 12:24 PM I will be all my paychecks in October it will be gone before 10/31 Yeah you will.... from your mentality! Will and Grace Fanatic 08-30-2015, 12:43 PM I don't have cable so..... Anyone know if netflix or hulu has any interest in streaming episodes. Moondance 09-04-2015, 11:41 AM ^--- If anything would be paired with The Golden Girls, it should be Empty Nest. As much as I love FOL, I agree about Empty Nest being added to the lineup. I miss that show so much!! MikeLutton 09-04-2015, 02:15 PM get a clear antenna u can plug in to ur tv u can pick up laff which carries empty nest and me tv and bounce for free.depending on where you live James28 09-06-2015, 02:04 AM I swore to never watch TVLand again after Hot in Cleveland ended last July, but The Facts of Life has to come to TVLand at a time when that channel has already turned into absolute crap. TFoL will literally be he only thing I will watch on TV Land from now on. retrofan05 09-06-2015, 04:09 PM I swore to never watch TVLand again after Hot in Cleveland ended last July, but The Facts of Life has to come to TVLand at a time when that channel has already turned into absolute crap. TFoL will literally be he only thing I will watch on TV Land from now on. It's a very random acquisition. It must be doing well on Logo so they're hoping it will do well on TV Land too. hch 09-07-2015, 11:19 AM stick to the DVD's folks, they're showing edited cuts. as for the end credits, LOGO doesn't show the end credits- they have them at the bottom of the screen while the last minutes of the episode is showing and then when the show fades out- the next show begins. I actually like it. You didn't know tv land would air edited versions:crazy: Wawwie 09-07-2015, 10:29 PM I will be all my paychecks in October it will be gone before 10/31 Yep, you are probably right, 'cause before that was Three's Company and Gilligan's Island and even before that was Brady Bunch. TVFactFan 09-07-2015, 10:34 PM Yep, you are probably right, 'cause before that was Three's Company and Gilligan's Island and even before that was Brady Bunch. That first season is for teens and preteens girls:lol: tlc38tlc38 09-08-2015, 09:26 AM I don't agree with TVFactFan on much at all but I do on this one. I don't think TFOL will last long at all on TV Land. It seems such an odd choice for the network. Empty Nest, Newhart or Alice would be better fits. mets82 09-08-2015, 04:15 PM Empty Nest wouldnt fit. I dont think enough people remember the show.FOL would fit because they have a lot of fans. Btw, the marathon was crap. Same episodes that they would show on the LOGO marathons. Somebody should tell TV Land and Logo, THERE WAS a first season of FOL. Maybe it wasnt very good but still. How about this for ironic? I was going through some videotapes of mine and came across some pro wrestling. Thats not the ironic part. I always mark what's on my tapes and I marked what wrestling shows were on there. So I decided to see what else was on the tape. It turns out with full opening and end credits and no edited scenes, The Facts of Life. You know what channel it was from? Nick at Nite. How ironic. retrofan05 09-08-2015, 05:05 PM Empty Nest wouldnt fit. I dont think enough people remember the show.FOL would fit because they have a lot of fans. Btw, the marathon was crap. The episodes were so badly edited too! In the Halloween show, the entire scene with the trick or treaters dressed as Hansel and Gretel was cut out. Also, in The New Girl, the confrontation with the woman in jail was cut out, however they left in the part with Tootie calling her "turkey," but it made no sense without the confrontation prior to it. Very disappointing. TVFactFan 09-08-2015, 05:52 PM Empty Nest wouldnt fit. I dont think enough people remember the show.FOL would fit because they have a lot of fans. Btw, the marathon was crap. The first season is for a very young audience which is why they didNY show it mets82 09-08-2015, 06:01 PM They dealt with pot and divorce and in the very first episode, Blair seemed to imply that Cindy was gay. ThomasE 09-09-2015, 06:37 PM 12 years too late You got that right. However I'm glad it's there! TVFactFan 09-09-2015, 08:02 PM You got that right. However I'm glad it's there! Will be gone before Halloween, Book It. 5pm to 7pm not a good sampling time ThomasE 09-09-2015, 09:33 PM LOL what ever you said the same thing about one day at a time in that show is still airing right now TVFactFan 09-09-2015, 09:39 PM LOL what ever you said the same thing about one day at a time in that show is still airing right now But FOL will be on cable which means it's a higher chance JoshLarson24 09-10-2015, 04:00 AM The Facts of Life has aired on TV Land before. I have marathons on VHS tape from the early 2000s when it aired on TV Land. The did several fandemonium marathons of this show. gidgetgrape 09-12-2015, 11:43 PM The episodes were so badly edited too! I agree that the editing is awful. I saw the suicide episode and they skipped over the part about the divorce. Without that info, the suicide makes even less sense. TVFactFan 09-12-2015, 11:47 PM why are people complaining about edited eps on TV Land in 2015? MrCleveland 09-13-2015, 08:04 AM I don't have cable so..... Anyone know if netflix or hulu has any interest in streaming episodes. I don't either...I'd also like to know if netflix or hulu is interested in streaming the JF/MB/BW Shows like Full House, Family Matters, or Perfest Strangers... Anyhow...does netflix and/or hulu show Sony-owned shows? Facts of Life is owned by Sony. gidgetgrape 09-13-2015, 02:29 PM Anyhow...does netflix and/or hulu show Sony-owned shows? Facts of Life is owned by Sony. Hulu has the rights to Seinfeld. JR1 10-29-2015, 04:29 PM TV Land showed a few season 1 episodes over the last couple of days, before skipping to season 2. And just a handful of season 7 and 8 episodes were shown (not surprisingly). I's good that the show is still on. Ratings for TV Land are low overall (even for the original shows), so it's not like it has to pull big numbers to remain part of the lineup. mets82 10-30-2015, 04:35 PM The thing is that there still showing the same crop of episodes that they were showing on LOGO. In other words, they skip the same ones. BigManMike 10-30-2015, 05:31 PM I looked at their schedule earlier and saw they only showed three Season 9 episodes: the controversial one where Natalie loses her virginity (which oddly enough was rated TV-G when other episodes have aired on TV Land with TV-PG ratings), and the last two episodes. It's good to see it back on tv, but when I turned it on in the exercise room where I work out a few days ago I saw lots of commercials and no credits. The credits were just shown on the bottom at the very end of the episode. Typical of TV Land. I'm just glad I have the DVDs unedited. opus 11-02-2015, 06:36 PM I will bet all my paychecks in October it will be gone before 10/31 Halloween has come and gone and it's still there. How much did you make in October, and how do you plan to send the money? tenter 11-02-2015, 06:40 PM Halloween has come and gone and it's still there. How much did you make in October, and how do you plan to send the money? You're in a wrong thread. This is the show for Facts of Life! opus 11-02-2015, 06:53 PM You're in a wrong thread. This is the show for Facts of Life! Nope. Read the quote in my post. He bet Facts of Life would be gone from TVLAND by 10/31. It's still on. tenter 11-02-2015, 07:05 PM Nope. Read the quote in my post. He bet Facts of Life would be gone from TVLAND by 10/31. It's still on. Ohh.. That's right. Well Facts of Life is still on TVLand, and I think it can stay there by few years. JR1 11-06-2015, 04:22 PM Yes, how will those be sent. hehe As posted, TV Land has such low ratings as it is (less than 0.3 in Adults 18-49 for all of its shows, even new content, for instance), that I wonder exactly what the threshold is for determining what stays and what doesn't. mets82 11-06-2015, 05:28 PM TV Land is getting ratings like that? Well, then again, I'm not surprised. Are you? opus 11-06-2015, 05:44 PM As posted, TV Land has such low ratings as it is (less than 0.3 in Adults 18-49 for all of its shows, even new content, for instance), that I wonder exactly what the threshold is for determining what stays and what doesn't. I think they monitor the internet, and if they find one person who says they're watching, that show stays on. JR1 11-11-2015, 11:26 PM ^Talk about low-cost research. :D mets82 11-11-2015, 11:30 PM Hell give me that job. Pretty damn easy, IMO. JoshLarson24 11-13-2015, 07:25 AM I could care less about what stays and goes on TV Land. All of their shows are available on DVD where I can watch them in their original format. I refuse to give TV Land the time of day by giving them any viewership. They cram in so many commercials that most shows are 40 minutes including commercials. The 40 minutes includes 19 minutes of actual show then the rest is commercials. No thanks TV Land. They can push their new classic/ original sitcom line up on some other folks. I left TV Land years ago and will not go back unless they include sitcoms in their original format or at least show them in a less butchered way which includes ending credits. Antenna TV is gradually turning into TV Land. First credit crunching then more current programming and reality shows. Before long there will be more commercials than show and to top it all off we will probably get no credits instead of credit crunching. Antenna TV is going to graduate into TV Land territory before our very eyes and they as well as TV Land could care less. If you complain on Facebook they will either ignore your comments or delete them then block you from making any more comments. James28 11-29-2015, 06:29 AM TV Land aired a The Facts of Life marathon on Thanksgiving Day. Didn't it look like the cable channel was playing the exact same episodes that were part of the TFoL Labor Day marathon? |
