View Full Version : Keith Reinhard Documentary "Dark Side Of The Mountain"
nicoge21 08-17-2015, 06:39 AM There is a new documentary coming out that revisits the Keith Reinhard dissapearance/Tom Young death. It will feature his family and friends, and some more information that the UM segment never talked about. This year will make 27 years since Keith went missing and no trace of him has ever been seen or found.

Hambone2421 08-17-2015, 08:00 AM Unless I'm reading this incorrectly, it sounds like the author in the link you posted, is planning to make a documentary and that one isn't coming out soon.
Hops3098 08-18-2015, 01:48 PM I took it to mean they are working on it right now. I hope when it is released, its easy to get your hands on.
This has always been one of the more fascinating UM cases for me. I found out that the paper he wrote for was the Daily Herald, which is one of the smaller Chicago area newspapers, but I haven't found any of his writings online. They'd probably be on microfiche.
Hops3098 09-03-2015, 02:21 PM The website doesn't get updated very often, but there's a Twitter account that has been posting interesting stuff about the documentary for the last month or so.

FilmAtticPictures 09-04-2015, 07:13 PM Hi everyone! Thank you for posting and following the production of DARK SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN.
We are beginning to push out a great deal of content over the next few months as we continue to complete shooting on the film itself. This will include exclusive photographs, personal letters and footage shot by Keith Reinhard in Silver Plume that I'm sure will interest those of you who have been following the story since its airing on Unsolved Mysteries.
For updates, be sure to check out our latest blog released today on our official site: FilmAtticPictures.com/film-attic-pictures-blog/
nicoge21 02-16-2016, 07:04 PM Almost done! I've been following film attic pictures for a while and it looks like its going to be good. Finally the case is going to get a real thorough examination. The amount of interviews and New information is fantastic.
tsaun 02-16-2016, 09:40 PM This was definitely a weird case. Possible both victims died of exposure?

Tom Young died of a gunshot wound.
crystaldawn 02-17-2016, 11:21 AM I did speak with the director of "Dark Side of the Mountain" just in the last couple of weeks. Things are going great with the film and they will soon be launching an official site and blog for the film which I'm sure he will post on here when its up and running. He did say that with the film he will also be releasing the full text of Keith Reinhard's authored "Guy Gypsum" story which I find very exciting. :)

That sounds awesome!
Is this going to be something that airs on a network channel or is this going straight to DVD/blu ray?
crystaldawn 02-17-2016, 02:07 PM I'm not sure but his last documentary "My Amityville Horror" premiered on the film festival circuit in 2013 and is now available from IFC Films (I ordered it from Amazon) and I think it will be the same type of release for Dark Side.
Hambone2421 02-17-2016, 02:39 PM Awesome. Thanks!

I thought that the book was never completed. Interesting...

I don't believe it was finished. I'm assuming they will just show what had been written so far.
crystaldawn 02-20-2016, 08:41 PM Eric Walter, the director of the movie, has been posting some great updates and pictures about the film on Twitter if anyone is interested @ericwalterfilm.
Hasho 06-29-2016, 04:42 PM Has anyone seen this movie? I am very interested in this case..
nicoge21 08-06-2016, 05:50 PM BUMP! Tomorrow is the anniversary. I can't believe people are dismissing the foul play/nuclear waste theory when there are 2 books that talk about this and an entire documentary is being made about this case with so much more information people aren't even aware of yet. Both of the authors of these books knew Keith personally. One of them even said the Tom Young case was reclassified as a homicide in 1996, and claimed Keith was the type of person who would easily stage a dissapearance and start anew. If you check Eric Walters twitter, you see he even was able to find the chewed doll head of Gus!
I've heard some screwy stuff though, like Dave Paulides (guy that researches missing persons cases) said on a radio show that the gun they found was destroyed before they examined it, (he says he went to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's office and looked at all the case files and they told him the gun was destroyed) while the unsolved mysteries segment says the bullet was never examined or proven to be from the gun Tom had.
Jetjack74 08-06-2016, 10:16 PM I'm watching the episode as I speak
