I believe it was the FX network who stated not to long ago that there are way to many television networks around now. This he said has created low quality tv. I have to agree, I wish we could go back to the late 90's. That amount of broadcast and cable tv was enough. Now days there are way to many tv networks and you can pretty much put anything on.
I like the idea that if you subscribe to cable, you could choose which networks you like. This way the good networks would actually survive.

Plus all the online platforms creating original programming like Netflix, Hulu, Yahoo, Crackle, etc.

I agree...cable companies should learn quality over quantity...I had cable in the 90's and this was my line-up

It's a service similar to Netflix, and it costs me $65.00 a month (average) but their are NO fee increases, :banana: :angryfireNO Commercials:angryfire, You can watch everything "on demand" :yippee: AND you are assured there will be NO cancellations as well because once you are finished watching a show, YOU GET TO KEEP IT! :D

You don't need unlimited internet access to "subscribe" to LSN. All you need is a a debit card for the internet stores, and cash for the yard sales. :D You buy the show and it's yours to keep afterwards! :lol::rofl::rotflmao::brent

PS. For those of you in Rio Linda, LSN (Little (Stinker) Network) is what I call my mammoth DVD collection! :cool:

To me, cable peaked around 2000 or so. Ironically, I looked forward to a "500-channel universe" in elementary school (early-90s). But now, I find myself without cable because there's not enough variety. The streaming services and my antenna fill the void just fine.

I guess that was the downside no one expected...that, and the fact that there's too many holes to fill, so the networks started ripping off other popular shows. Seriously...how many pawn shops shows do we need? :p

That, and the networks are so desperate to keep viewers that they resort to annoying intrusions to keep people from tuning out.

If anyone believes that there is too many TV channels/networks, then what do you think about this?:

FX, on 16 December, issued a new report statin that the total number of scripted serieses hit a new high in 2015 with 409 dramas, comedies and limited series across the U.S.'s broadcast networks, basic and pay cable channels, and OTT (over-the-top) services.
