Given that Archie didn't specify if this was before or after he met Edith (I'm assuming that it was after) and considering Edith's reaction to Archie's cheating in the "Archie's Brief Encounter" episode, why was Edith not livid about Archie kissing cousin Liz and wanting to do more than that with her? It doesn't make sense to me.

I think you have to take stock in the middle class culture of the 70's and realize not everyone walked around like they do today getting their feelings hurt. Edith understood her husband's shortcomings, she also knew his loyalties. Talking about the past did not violate who he was in the present. It's sad today's generation has to pretend like they run the perfect race and respect everyone. People are more demeaned today than ever. People are "outraged" over the most ridiculous things and this flash mob mentality of fake pride is symptomatic of a culture detached from reality.

Archie was quite the ladies man in his younger days, but only with Edith's cousins; he even made passes at Maude! :)
