I know this might sound like a dumb game show, but lets get a short game going on. The first 5 people to respond to this post will be the 5 contestants! (I know there are 8, but 5 should be enough) I'll give you numbers, then give 5 questions, one for the each of you. Then I'll check the boards at 9 pm/8/7/6 o 'clock, depending on what your time zone is. We'll just play if you get it right, you go on. If you get it wrong, you're gone form the game. And don't worry, I wont be so mean to you. So get ready posters! It's time for........THE WEAKEST LINK!!!

Jeff: In language, which language has the most number of speakers at over 800 million. (It has to be the name of the dialect)

Byron: In television, how many seasons did the talk show "Sally" run for?

Kristina: Also in geography, what are the highest and lowest points of the world? I don't need the measurements, just what they are . (*Hint they are both located in the same continent.)

Wait a minute! Loophole, loophole!! :nonono:

That was my first answer... :( but I changed it cause during my research, I found this at Sally's bio at www.sallyjr.com:

"And survive she has. Before launching her signature television show on Oct. 17, 1983, which aired locally in St. Louis and was then offered for national syndication six months later, Raphael had a long and adventurous career in television and radio."

I plead the Research Amendment! I saw 17 seasons from the IMDB cause it stated 1985, but I went with what her bio says cause I took that as meanin' it was the same show, just changed to a broader format.

This may not get me anywhere, but I just don't like to give up without a good :boxing:

Jeff: In geography, how many countries in the world begin w/ the letter R?

Jenny: In History, what was the largest Empire, stretching from Eastern China all the way to the Mediterranean Sea?

And I'm kind of debating on your answer Byron. I learned the answer in my Freshman English class and my teacher said "Histories" was the third genre. That's what Julius Ceasar would have classified under.

But then I went to look to see if your answer was right and looked at the genres. Well I got Comedies Tragedies, and Problem Plays. So I would have accepted either answer.

But you said YOU learned it and looked up the answer. Hmmmm.......I'll accpet it if you post a link to where you found it and I see myself, but if I can't find it, then I'll have to keep Problem Plays or Histories as the answer, and you'll have to be dropped. :(

Just post the proof and we'll see if you'll be ready to go on to the next round. :D

If not, then well, here's your prize.

You want proof, you got it! :D I just searched it on Google, and it listed some sites (and it also says "Morality Plays" in a few---that may be what I was actually thinkin' of, though "Miracle Plays" is also an answer):

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=shakespeare+miracle+plays

Dang it, I can't get my link to work right---not sure what it is, but I have to run for work now---just type that in, or search "Shakespeare miracle plays" at Google---that's what I did.

"Aerology is a branch of meteorology involving observation and research of the atmosphere by means of balloons, radiosondes, airplains etc. Air temperature, atmospheric pressure, air humidity and wind are the basic and most often measured factors. Aerology concerns the observation and research of ozone, radioactivity and some components of long wave radiation."
