That ep was on today. Really funny! I loved how every time they showed Wally, that jazzy music would start playing! And than when Beaver came down stairs with his hair like that, that was hilarious. He looked like Eddie Munster!

The hair and make-up people on LITB must have had a ball that week. Wally , Lumpy , and Beaver all sported that goofy hairstyle at some point during the episode!

Honestly, I thought June was a real pain in the butt. I mean she HAD to call the principal? What was he going to do about it? I thought she went on and on about it. It was just a hairstyle. How annoying.

I think back then there was more controlling of people and especially the teens.

This is the era of first using the term "teenager". It must have scared the petunias out of June to think that Wally was a teenager. Nobody had the concept of picking their battles or were aware of the crazy things teens were going to come up with next.

If he wore his hair like that, people might think he's some kind of creep.

He's tame considering how some teenager's wear there hair now.

Yeah! If they even have hair. So many shaved heads these days! :( I don't get that? Unless it's an older man that is already balding? If not I think a young guy should have hair on his head! ;)

Well on a Black guy , it's fine. They actually look fine bald! But a White guy or a Hispanic guy completely bald looks scary to me! :(

Love this episode. Though we never got to see Eddie with the hair style, they just talk about it. Maybe because his hair couldn't actually be put in that style?

Yeah! Seems like Eddie's hair would have been too short for that style? ;) Or maybe too curly? Wally had curly hair too, but it wasn't as curly as Eddie's and a little longer right? :)

I saw that episode the other day. The principal called it the "the Jelly roll style".

I saw it too. You know, OK, you don't like the hairstyle but June went on and on and on about it.

If you think about it, June was uptight about a lot of things. In her defense, I think she gets her attitude from living with her ridiculous Aunt Martha. The only episode I really recall being upset with June was that one where her stuck up Aunt Martha and her stuffy friend visited the Cleaver's without much notice. She not only told them it was ok to drop by without checking to see if anyone had plans, but she insisted they have lunch with them when the ladies were ready to walk out the door, knowing that the boys had plans to go to the carnival with their friends and that Ward promised to take them! That is one time I sided with the boys because they visited those women as their mother asked and she insisted those horrible women stayed! LOL! Now I'm going on and on, but I felt for them that day. I just can't stand Aunt Martha!

Oh I always hated missing my favorite episodes, but when I heard that Shout Factory was bringing out the entire series, I saved for it. Thankfully I had about 8-9 months to save my money. If you have Netflix at all, the entire series is on there too. I bought the DVD collection before we got Netflix. They are also the full length episodes on Netflix! I think we pay like $8 a month or something like that.

Unfortunately it's no longer available on their streaming, disc rental only now, which is a hassle for TV shows, much more convenient to pop on a few eps of shows when it's on their streaming.

I was watching this episode last night on DVD and I was trying to decide how this hairstyle worked.

Do they comb the top part from back to front or front to back?

Do they comb the sides up and over to the top or is it combed up the side of the head and then do they do a curl inwards to create a roll shape where the side of the head and the top of the head join?

Would YOU have worn anything like this?
