An actor or actress can make or break a character in the world of daytime soaps. When the time comes for them to bid adieu and move on from their role, fans can be left heartbroken. While Days of Our Lives (DOOL) characters have been known to disappear, die or simply leave town, most seemingly have nine lives and return as well. Re-casting is never easy, for the show or the person stepping into the shoes of an established character. Sometimes it can be a win-win situation, and other times it is an epic fail. Below are the top six worst re-casts in DOOL history.

Charity Rahmer was painful, but I liked Krista Allen as Billie. The show was writing her as a troublemaker at the time and she pulled it off. I didn't mind Brandon Beemer, and while Austin Peck got a bit better, he apparently started to get a Kirk Cameron attitude with people on the set, trying to force his religious beliefs on others, ironic since when he went over to As the World Turns, his co-star cheated on her husband with him.

I quit watching DAYS when EJ took over everything, but from what I hear from friends who still watch, Kassie DePaiva as a recast Eve Donovan is not very popular. I never could stand her. She was a recast for Blair on One Life To Live---and the original actress was Asian American and her storyline had her father as Asian. I just don't see the appeal of this actress.
