I have Dennis the menace on right now, and is it just me, or is Henry HOT? I don't mean drop dead gorgeous HOT, but hot in a cute sort of way? I LOVE his glasses. I think Clark Kent is hot too. Loved that style of glasses on men! ;)

Herbert Anderson was a dead ringer for Dennis' dad in the comics.

You'll also see him on Family Affair, upcoming this fall -- solid grey at the temples! And he did at least one episode of My Three Sons (one of the foot-race dads). Both of course later than DTM.

You must have gone for the older Cary Grant too - he wore glasses like that!

I think too that Bonniegirl likes men with dark hair (Randolph Mantooth, Erik Estrada, Dean Martin, Teddy Savalas, Tony Dow, Ann Romano's ex on ODAAT, Robbie Bensen -- and now Herbert!!! Seeing a DEFINITE trend here!:))

Oh yeah. I love dark hair on men. I went through a blonde guy phase for a while. But even in real life I always end up with dark haired men, usually with brown eyes too. Blonde guys always seemed like they weren't that interested in me for some reason, they were colder, less romantic or something!

My favorite guy from Here comes the brides was David Soul though. I always thought he was hot, and Bucky Covington , a country singer from American idol 2007. He was HOT, but for the most part love the dark haired guys more!

I think that was the same Brady Bunch episode you're referencing that also had Marion Ross (Happy Days). She turns me on somewhat when I see her from the early '70s on back. She played an M.D. on The Brady Bunch and a nurse on Hawaii Five-O.

I thought of another My Three Sons episode with Herbert Anderson -- the one where the eccentric air force general (?) is more interested in Katie's pregnancy than Steve's project. Herbert played the subordinate military man.

Yes indeed Dennis's Dad was hot. Nothing better than a sharp dressed distinguished looking man and he had all that going for him.

That's what I was thinking too when I watched the show this morning! Wow, they did a great job in casting him! I'm not sure if the comic strip came before the show but I'm guessing that it did. But anyway, yes, the dad is very handsome.
