View Full Version : Poll: Favorite take out food Bonniegirl 08-05-2015, 06:19 PM What is your favorite take out food? Planet Claire 08-05-2015, 07:24 PM I like Chinese Takeout. Wawwie 08-05-2015, 09:58 PM . Bonniegirl 08-05-2015, 10:38 PM My vote is for Mexican, but I LOVE Chinese too! Thanks for voting , girls !;) OH Nuts! 08-05-2015, 11:55 PM I'd say Chinese or Asian food is first; then pizza. Family Ties Forever! 08-06-2015, 05:06 AM Pizza Sub sandwiches I also like burgers and fried chicken. Where I live I get so tired of Mexican food. I can't stand Chinese food, nasty! Race's Girl 08-06-2015, 08:37 AM McDonald's 1960'sTVfan 08-06-2015, 10:53 AM I vote for burgers & fries, with pizza a close second. Torgo 08-06-2015, 11:23 AM Chinese Marvo301 08-06-2015, 01:54 PM Pizza! I could eat it everyday and not get tired of it! I get fat but i wouldn't get tired of pizza! Bonniegirl 08-06-2015, 02:07 PM I miss back east pizza! The pizza out here isn't as good as Philly pizza, also Philly cheesesteaks and hoagies. Made by Italian people in little private owned shops and restaurants! Sub sandwiches out here aren't the same ! I like Subway, and I eat there, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite take out food. The tuna on flat bread is really good! So I picked Mexican first , we have really good Mexican food out here, and Chinese food too, my 2nd choice. KFC YUMMY!!! I don't eat too much of that anymore, but it is tasty! Hamburgers and fries- ROADTRIP!!! Reminds me of stopping and eating on the road on vacations! So it's fun that way, but we rarely buy it as take out at home! Other- Salvadorian Pupusas Are DELICIOUS , and I love Thai food and chicken teriyaki ! I hate sushi though! HuntingtonM15 08-06-2015, 03:51 PM Good poll. It was a hard choice, because I like all of the options. I had to go with pizza, though, because it is my favorite. But if I'm doing carry out from a family restaurant, I typically go with a burger and fries. But then again, I did have KFC for dinner yesterday, lol. Bonniegirl 08-06-2015, 04:03 PM It's funny a lot of people are voting for pizza! In the last meal if you were on death row poll we had going a while ago, I remember nobody chose pizza! I'm thinking because it's more of a party or a group type food as apposed to something you eat alone? It seems whenever I have pizza, I'm always with at least one other person. I wouldn't order a pizza just for myself. Where as I'd get Mexican takeout or order Chinese food delivery by myself! AB 08-06-2015, 04:31 PM I voted pizza. There are just so many choices of toppings for pizza and different type crusts that we never seem to get tired of it. Wawwie 08-06-2015, 06:24 PM I miss back east pizza! The pizza out here isn't as good as Philly pizza So the pizza out where you are in California isn't that good? I live in New York which has the best take out IMO, but I always thought California had pretty good take out. I've only been to San Francisco, so I'm not entirely sure. San Francisco did have some really good Chinese restaurants, and the pizza places were good too. The WORST Chinese food I ever had was in Georgia.... HORRIBLE and the worst pizza I ever had was in North Carolina... NOT FIT FOR A DOG! California's take out was pretty good IMO. I got spoiled because Philly/New York east coast is known for good Italian food, and the pizza/cheesesteaks, hoagies were so good.;) Out here you can get a good authentic Italian pizza in a sit down Italian restaurant, but for takeout and delivery Dominos and Little Ceasars are more the norm! And I mean they are OK , not bad, but not REAL delicious Italian pizza! :( Last time I was in Vegas, we went to an Italian restaurant and the pizza was to DIE for!!!! I got homesick for Philly cause it was pizza like that! ;) Wawwie 08-06-2015, 07:00 PM I got spoiled because Philly/New York east coast is known for good Italian food, and the pizza/cheesesteaks, hoagies were so good.;) Out here you can get a good authentic Italian pizza in a sit down Italian restaurant, but for takeout and delivery Dominos and Little Ceasars are more the norm! And I mean they are OK , not bad, but not REAL delicious Italian pizza! :( Last time I was in Vegas, we went to an Italian restaurant and the pizza was to DIE for!!!! I've never been to Las Vegas so I can't say from personal experience that they have good pizza. New York is the best. I've been to a lot of states. New Jersey also has great pizza, then San Francisco, California. North Carolina is the WORST for pizza. They don't know what the hell they are doing. I've also been to South Carolina.... also bad. I think California has a lot of transplant residents which might be why their take out is so good, but like I said, I've only been to San Francisco. Do you live near San Francisco, Bonnie? I've also had Mexican food in Arizona at nice Mexican restaurants. The food was excellent! I have to admit that the Arizona Mexican food was better than the NY Mexican food. But NY wins in Pizza and Chinese. Philly wins in cheese steaks. Bonniegirl 08-06-2015, 11:25 PM I would rather have nothing at all than Domino's. Gross! Southern California ROCKS the little taco stands, small little Mom & Pop Mexican restaurants ! ;) :) Than of course , there are the bigger restaurants that are more commercial and not as authentic but drinking a couple Margaritas is hitting the spot! :happyface Wawwie 08-06-2015, 11:42 PM OH yeah!!! ARIZONA! They totally know what's up! No comparison. They are beyond awesome. Anyone in this thread...... if you ever happen to go to Arizona, make sure to go to a Mexican restaurant. You will not be sorry! Fleet 08-11-2015, 07:39 PM My favorite take-out choice by far is pizza! Where I live, there are quite a few good pizza parlors. I don't understand anyone who says there is no good pizza in California. With all the choices, it's almost impossible to not find one you like. Fleet 08-11-2015, 08:08 PM Here is a sample. This one is zpizza. Bonniegirl 08-11-2015, 08:44 PM My favorite take-out choice by far is pizza! Where I live, there are quite a few good pizza parlors. I don't understand anyone who says there is no good pizza in California. With all the choices, it's almost impossible to not find one you like. Glad you found some you like!;) As I've said I've had some good authentic pizza out here at Italian restaurants, but not so much at pizza places that are mainly takeout or delivery! ;) Not terrible but from what I'm remembering East coast was better, and even still when I go back to visit family the pizza is better than here! ;) Janice 08-11-2015, 09:02 PM I went with Chinese food, but it's hard to find the good stuff. My husband orders a lot of pizza, which I don't like. Zoneboy 08-11-2015, 09:06 PM I've lived in NC 50 years and the only bad pizza I've had was from Little Caesars. I was in the restaurant business for over 30 years but not pizza, our area of expertise was old-fashioned pit-cooked BBQ and NC is widely considered to be among the best for it. They don't own it anymore, but for over 10 years, there was a place called Pizzaola. It was very good and owned by New Yorkers who moved to California. Fleet 08-12-2015, 03:27 AM I went with Chinese food, but it's hard to find the good stuff. My husband orders a lot of pizza, which I don't like. Along with pizza places, there are also quite a few Chinese restaurants. My favorite is Pagoda Inn. Penny Lane 08-12-2015, 09:26 PM Pizza for me! HuntingtonM15 08-12-2015, 09:32 PM I would rather have nothing at all than Domino's. Gross! I agree! I've only had Domino's once in my life, which was in early 2014. We were starving in a hotel at 2am and it was the only place open that delivered. It was soooo so bad. That's what I'm saying about East coast pizza!!! ;) Like with me. I LOVE Mexican food, living in a state with a big Mexican population, and as Wawwie posted when she was in Arizona had really good Mexican food. Again another western state with a big Mexican population! Hence the good Mexican food! ;) Same with Asian food out west, there is a big population of Asian people here, and the food is GOOD!!! ;) So , like those New Yorkers (most likely of Italian decent) , if a Mexican family that was really good at cooking went to an eastern state and opened a restaurant it would be really good and authentic! ;) Fleet 08-13-2015, 03:12 AM You got it!!!! Fortunately, I don't have to live on the East coast to enjoy good pizza. Maybe more New Yorkers will move out here and continue to open pizza parlors! There are very good Mexican food (which I don't really care for) and Chinese food (which I do like) restaurants in my area. Of course, in a valley with about 1.7 million people, there are going to be a lot of choices and good restaurants. MrCleveland 08-13-2015, 07:07 AM Here's how I see it... 1-Chinese (Since I mostly see it as take-out...no Panda Express in Cleveland though). 2-Pizza and Pasta (Some places you can sit and eat, though most Pizza Huts are now small). 3-Burgers and Fries (I don't see this as take-out much...but It's an American Classic, my favorite is Wendy's). 4-Chicken (KFC seems to have fallen-off the map, but Boston Market is a good place to eat)! 5-Sandwiches and Subs (I don't go to many of these, but Penn Station and Jimmy John's make good subs). 6-Mexican (I'm not a fan of Mexican food...but if I am, it would be Chipotle)! 7-Other (I nominate Hot Dogs, though may be the worst food ever...I enjoy a good Chicago Dog and Polish Boy)! AMackII 10-21-2017, 07:58 PM Burgers & Fries. In Addition that, i also enjoy Pizza, Mexican Food & etc while i’m ordering take out |
